Threshold adaptation for 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 Hz was studied with the Carhart, Rosenberg, and Owens tone decay tests using 40 normal-hearing subjects. Differences in tone decay were evaluated for effects of experimental technique, frequency, hearing level and SPL of the stimuli.
