Discharge estimation in a backwater affected meandering river [PDF]
Variable effects of backwaters complicate the development of rating curves at hydrometric measurement stations. In areas influenced by backwater, single-parameter rating curve techniques are often inapplicable.

Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs) have proven to be a useful oceanographic tool in the study of ocean dynamics. Data from D279, a transatlantic hydrographic cruise carried out in spring 2004 along 24.5°N, were processed, and lowered ADCP (LADCP) bottom track data were used to assess the choice of reference velocity for geostrophic calculations.

The value of protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist-II (PIVKA) in predicting the efficacy of transhepatic arterial chemoembolisation (TACE): A retrospective study. [PDF]
Background: To investigate the value of AFP combined with degamma-carboxylprothrombin (DCP), vitamin K absence or antagonist-II (PIVKA) in predicting the efficacy of transhepatic arterial chemoembolisation (TACE).

Analysis of ADCP data above a bottom observatory
A 300-kHz ADCP was set on GEOSTAR, a six-m3 deep-sea observatory. It was operated with cells of 80 cm during a three-week test experiment at 42-m water depth in the northern Adriatic sub-basin. Although it provided valuable data about the horizontal current field over most of the water column, it also allowed specifying the wake disturbances induced by

FAIR ADCP data with OSADCP: a workflow to process ocean current data from vessel-mounted ADCPs
This paper presents the open-source Python software OSADCP developed for the processing of vessel-mounted Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (VMADCP) data. At this stage, the toolbox is designed for processing VMADCP measurements from open-ocean applications of Teledyne RDI Ocean Surveyor ADCPs and the data acquisition software VMDAS. Based on the VMDAS

Cross-sectional ocean current data from vessel mounted acoustic Doppler current profiler (ADCP) survey in the Alas Strait, Indonesia. [PDF]
In this article, we present three-dimensional current vectors obtained by 600 kHz vessel mounted Teledyne Workhorse Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP).

Moored upward-looking Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs) can be used to observe sea ice draft. While previous studies relied on the availability of auxiliary pressure sensors to measure the instrument depth of the ADCP, we present an adaptive ...

Approximately 100,000 mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) events of HIV via human milk feeding occur each year. However, only about 15% of infants milk-fed by untreated HIV+ mothers become infected, suggesting a protective effect of the milk itself ...

Detection of suspended macroplastics using acoustic doppler current profiler (ADCP) echo
Plastic pollution has become an enormous environmental problem, endangering ecosystems, livelihoods, safety and human health. Large quantities of plastics are trapped in or transported by rivers.
