Additive generalization of the Boltzmann entropy [PDF]
There exists only one generalization of the classical Boltzmann-Gibbs-Shannon entropy functional to a one-parametric family of additive entropy functionals. We find analytical solution to the corresponding extension of the classical ensembles, and discuss in some detail the example of the deformation of the uncorrelated state.

A Duality Relationship Between Fuzzy Partial Metrics and Fuzzy Quasi-Metrics
In 1994, Matthews introduced the notion of partial metric and established a duality relationship between partial metrics and quasi-metrics defined on a set X.

On Generalized Addition Chains
Given integers d >= 1, and g >= 2, a g-addition chain for d is a sequence of integers a_0=1, a_1, a_2,..., a_{r-1}, a_r=d where a_i=a_{j_1}+a_{j_2}+...+a_{j_k}, with 2 =< k =< g, and 0 =< j_1 =< j_2 =< ... =< j_k =< i-1. The length of a g-addition chain is r, the number of terms following 1 in the sequence. We denote by l_g(d)

Additive fabrication and experimental validation of a lightweight thermoelectric generator
We develop a thermoelectric generator based on catalytic combustion and operating in the low power range (up to 10 W). Considering the target of small-scale thermoelectric generators, the additive technique was chosen as an enabling technology to ...

A Generalized Liaison Addition
If \(X\) and \(Y\) are curves in the projective three-space, \(M(X)\) and \(M(Y)\) their deficiency modules, and \(V\) a complete intersection of a surface containing \(X\) with a surface containing \(Y\), then in a natural way is defined a curve \(Z\) (which set-theoretically is \(X \cup Y \cup V)\) whose deficiency module is the direct sum of \(M(X)\)

Short-term frequency regulation of power systems based on DFIG wind generation
Short-term frequency regulation is important for the safety and efficiency of power systems based on wind generation units. However, unmodeled dynamics and stochastic disturbances in wind speed and load present a challenge for frequency regulation.

Indistinguishability Operators Applied to Task Allocation Problems in Multi-Agent Systems
In this paper we show an application of indistinguishability operators to model response functions. Such functions are used in the mathematical modeling of the task allocation problem in multi-agent systems when the stimulus, perceived by the agent, to ...

Functional Generalized Additive Models [PDF]
We introduce the functional generalized additive model (FGAM), a novel regression model for association studies between a scalar response and a functional predictor. We model the link-transformed mean response as the integral with respect to t of F{X(t), t} where F(·,·) is an unknown regression function and X(t) is a functional covariate.
