Adenomatoid odontogenic tumour (adenoameloblastoma)

Two cases of adenomatoid odontogenic tumour affecting the jaws of two young Nigerian Africans are described. One was diagnosed clinically as a cyst, the other as an ossifying fibroma, but their true nature was later unmasked by histopathological studies.

Abstract Two more cases of a lesion often referred to as “adenoameloblastoma” are reported. This lesion is believed to be a form of developmental abnormality derived, directly or indirectly, from epithelial cells of the enamel organ or its remnants and involving an attempt at enamel formation.
