Adenocarcinoma of the lung mimicking interstitial lung disease

open access: yesGülhane Tıp Dergisi
Atypical radiologic and clinical patterns may be observed within subgroups of lung adenocarcinoma. A 74-year-old man with progressive dyspnea and productive cough unresponsive to antibiotherapy showed bilateral interstitial changes in the lung parenchyma

Intraoesophageal Adenocarcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesGut, 1960
A study of 87 cases of carcinoma involving the gastro-oesophageal region included seven cases of adenocarcinoma confined to the anatomical limits of the oesophagus. Six of these intraoesophageal adenocarcinomas appear to have arisen in “oesophagi lined by columnar epithelium”.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Coexistence of adenocarcinoma colon with pseudomembraneous colitis

open access: yesJournal of Digestive Endoscopy, 2013
We report a 62 year old man who had coexistence of pseudomembraneous colitis and adenocarcinoma sigmoid colon in the absence of any antibiotic therapy. This is the first report of coexistence of both these conditions in the same patient.

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
