Bond strength of universal adhesive applied to dry and wet dentin

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Oral Sciences, 2020
Aim: This study evaluated the influence of dentin wettability on the immediate and extended microtensile bond strength (mTBS) of a universal adhesive system used in the etch-and-rinse strategy. Methods: Twenty human third molars were selected and divided

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Overlapping Length and Lifetime Influence on Load of Simple Over-lapped Adhesive Bond [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, Mechanical Series, 2011
A production process is various in single industrial branches; it usually has one common element – bonding pieces of material. We can say on the base of the production sphere analysis that simple overlapped adhesive bonds are the most common adhesive ...

Measurement of Stress Optical Coefficient for Silicone Adhesive Based on Terahertz Time Domain Spectroscopy

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
The bonding structure is affected by environmental loads during use, causing internal stress in the adhesive layer, which leads to the debonding and expansion of the bonding layer.

Kissing bonds in adhesive joints: a holistic approach for surface chemistry and joint mechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
PhDKissing bonds (KBs) refer to the situation where two surfaces are only partially bonded or are debonded but touching or in very close proximity. This may be the consequence of poor adhesion, environmental degradation or impact damage.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

A novel dentin bonding scheme based on extrafibrillar demineralization combined with covalent adhesion using a dry-bonding technique

open access: yesBioactive Materials, 2021
Dentin bonding is a dynamic process that involves the penetration of adhesive resin monomers into the extrafibrillar and intrafibrillar demineralized collagen matrix using a wet-bonding technique.
