Comparison of shear bond strength to clinically simulated debonding of orthodontic brackets: An in vitro study

open access: yesJournal of Orthodontic Science, 2016
Objectives: To assess in vitro the quantitative and qualitative debonding behavior of the AEZ debonding plier, compared to shear debonding force, in debonding orthodontic metal brackets.

Effect of adhesive remnant removal on enamel topography after bracket debonding

open access: yes, 2014
INTRODUCTION: At orthodontic treatment completion, knowledge about the effects of adhesive remnant removal on enamel is paramount.OBJECTIVE: This study aimed at assessing the effect of different adhesive remnant removal methods on enamel topography (ESI)

Engineering IL‐4 resistant proinflammatory human myeloid cells for cancer immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a scalable workflow to generate proinflammatory human myeloid cells. CRISPR/Cas9‐edited CD34+ hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells were expanded and differentiated with M‐CSF. Deletion of STAT6 or STAT6/NFKB1 enhanced macrophage proinflammatory gene expression and cytokine secretion in the presence of IL‐4 while maintaining antibody ...

Tumour‐proximal deep serum proteomics identifies biomarkers associated with ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
New biomarkers are needed for early ovarian cancer detection. Ovarian (tumour‐proximal) and peripheral vein serum from healthy women and patients with benign or malignant tumours underwent nanoparticle‐enriched deep proteomics. Ovarian serum yielded more protein identifications and revealed tumour‐reflective signatures.

Comparison of Shear Bond Strength and Adhesive Remnant Index of Two Different Orthodontic Bonding Adhesives: An In-Vitro Study [PDF]

open access: yes
Aim: The purpose of this in vitro study was to determine and compare the shear bond strength (SBS)and adhesive remnant index scores (ARI) of stainless-steel brackets bonded with two different orthodontic bonding adhesive systems.

Vascular normalization confers an endothelial immune suppressive gene expression profile

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We compare the immunoregulatory gene expression profiles of healthy endothelial cells or endothelial cells from tumors having a normalized endothelium (low leakage) with that of wild‐type tumors (high leakage) and observe that the wild‐type tumor endothelium exhibits immunostimulatory properties.

An outer membrane vesicle‐associated two‐track model for enterotoxigenic Bacteroides fragilis oncogenesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Enterotoxigenic Bacteroides fragilis is a gut bacterium linked to bowel cancer. We propose that its toxin acts along two routes: at the cell surface, cutting the adhesion protein E‐cadherin and triggering inflammation; and inside the cell, delivered by bacterial vesicles, switching on NOD1 and cancer stem cell programs.

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...
