In vitro analysis of shear bond strength and adhesive remnant index comparing light curing and self-curing composites [PDF]

open access: yesDental Press Journal of Orthodontics, 2013
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate, in vitro, the shear bond strength of self-curing (ConciseTM - 3M and Alpha Plast - DFL) and light-curing composites (TransbondTM XT - 3M and Natural Ortho - DFL) used in orthodontics bonding, associated to Morelli metal brackets, with further analysis of adhesive remnant index (ARI) and enamel condition in scanning electron ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

The effect of two commonly consumed energy drinks on the bond strength of conventional and APC® brackets

open access: yesErbil Dental Journal, 2019
Background and Objective: One of the common problems during orthodontic treatment is a bond failure, which interferes with treatment course and results in increased treatment duration and more clinical time for rebonding of failed brackets.

Shear Bond Strength, Bonding Time and Adhesive Remnant Index of Adhesive Precoated Flash Free Adhesive System vs Conventional Adhesive System using Metal Brackets: An In-vitro Study

open access: yesJOURNAL OF CLINICAL AND DIAGNOSTIC RESEARCH, 2023
Introduction: With advances in materials for bonding in orthodontics, errors regarding amount of adhesive to be used can be controlled. Adhesive Precoated (APC™) Brackets were introduced to reduce the step of applying conventional adhesive on base of the bracket.

An image analysis of adhesive remnant index between ceramic and metal brackets : a clinical study / Mohd Fariq Usoff [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The debonding characteristics of the brackets can be determined from Adhesive Remnant Index (ARI) score. To date, there is a lack of clinical studies to evaluate the debonding characteristics between metal and ceramic brackets.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Shear bond strength of a flash-free orthodontic adhesive system after thermal aging procedure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The aim of this study was to compare the shear bond strength (SBS) of a flash-free and precoated orthodontic adhesive with a compomer orthodontic adhesive before and after thermocycling.

Assessing adhesive remnant removal and enamel damage with ultraviolet light: An in-vitro study

open access: yes, 2017
Introduction: Our objective was to assess the amounts of adhesive remnant and enamel damage when removing composite under conventional lighting and ultraviolet (UV) light.

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.
