Distinct Neuropsychiatric Profiles Associated With 17p11.2 Deletions and RAI1 Variants in Smith–Magenis Syndrome

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Smith–Magenis syndrome (SMS) results from either a recurrent 17p11.2 deletion or pathogenic variants in the retinoic acid induced 1 gene (RAI1). While neurodevelopmental impairment and behavioral dysregulation are well recognized, systematic genotype‐stratified analyses across psychiatric domains remain limited.

On the stability of ADI methods

open access: yesDAIMI Report Series, 2017
When solving parabolic equations in two space dimensions implicit methods are preferred to the explicit method because of their better stability properties. Straightforward implementation of implicit methods require time-consuming solution of large systems of linear equations, and ADI methods are preferred instead.

Low-rank plus sparse decomposition for exoplanet detection in direct-imaging ADI sequences. The LLSG algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Data processing constitutes a critical component of high-contrast exoplanet imaging. Its role is almost as important as the choice of a coronagraph or a wavefront control system, and it is intertwined with the chosen observing strategy.

Immune Modulatory Therapy for Severe Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in a Patient With Mitochondrial Complex I Deficiency: A Case Report

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Dengue virus (DENV) poses a serious global health challenge, particularly in cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). Patients with preexisting mitochondrial disorders may be at increased risk for complications due to the specific impact of DENV on mitochondrial‐dependent cellular processes and immune function.

A Phase II Study of Arginine Deiminase (ADI-PEG20) in Relapsed/Refractory or Poor-Risk Acute Myeloid Leukemia Patients

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Exogenous arginine is required for growth in some argininosuccinate synthetase (ASS)-deficient cancers. Arginine deiminase (ADI) inhibits growth in various ASS-deficient cancers by depleting arginine. The efficacy of pegylated ADI (ADI-PEG20) in relapsed/

A Pragmatic Trial of a Shared Decision‐Making Intervention to Improve Medication Adherence and Outcomes in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus: The HCQ‐SAFE Study

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) nonadherence in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) stemming from decision complexities can be improved with shared decision‐making (SDM) tools clarifying benefits and harms. This study aimed to develop and evaluate HCQ‐SAFE, a pictogram‐based SDM tool during SLE visits.

A phase 1 study of ADI-PEG 20 and modified FOLFOX6 in patients with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma and other gastrointestinal malignancies

open access: yesCancer Chemotherapy and Pharmacology, 2018
PurposeArginine depletion interferes with pyrimidine metabolism as well as DNA damage repair pathways. Preclinical data indicates that pairing pegylated arginine deiminase (ADI-PEG 20) with fluoropyrimidines or platinum enhances cytotoxicity in vitro and

The ORCA‐TWIN qCMOS Experiment I. Science Case and Commissioning at Calar Alto Observatory

open access: yesAstronomische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We describe a pilot study to explore a new generation of fast and low noise CMOS image sensors for time domain astronomy, using two remote telescopes with a baseline of 1635 km. The experiment involves direct imaging with novel qCMOS image sensor technology that combines fast readout with sub‐electron readout noise.
