On Adiabatic Processes at the Elementary Particle Level [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physical Mathematics, 2016
Analysis of adiabatic processes at the elementary particle level and of the manner in which they correlate with the principle of conservation of energy, the principle of least action and entropy. Analysis of the initial and irreversible adiabatic acceleration sequence of newly created elementary particles and its relation to these principles ...

Illuminating Advances in Materials: Optical Physical Unclonable Functions for Security Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights Optical Physical Unclonable Functions (OPUFs) as secure, light‐driven authentication tools. It surveys material platforms including optical fibers, low‐dimensional materials, luminophores, plasmonic nanoparticles and rare earth OPUFs systems.

Adiabaticity of the ramping process of an ac dipole [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics - Accelerators and Beams, 2005
ac dipoles in accelerators are used to excite coherent betatron oscillations at a drive frequency close to the tune. If the excitation amplitude is slowly increased to the desired value and slowly decreased back to zero there is no significant emittance growth.

Excitation Energy Transfer between Porphyrin Dyes on a Clay Surface: A Study Employing Multifidelity Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
Inspired by natural light‐harvesting systems, this study computationally investigates a synthetic antenna by arranging cationic free‐base porphyrin molecules on an anionic clay surface. Using a multiscale quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM) approach combined with a multifidelity machine learning method, excitation energies are predicted ...

Entanglement transfer of a Rydberg W-state to a multi-mode photonic state

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
A robust quantum protocol has been developed that achieves highly efficient entanglement transfer from a three-atom Rydberg system, initially in a W-state (|rrg〉+|rgr〉+|grr〉)/sqrt[3], to an equivalent photonic W-state (|101〉+|110〉+|011〉)/sqrt[3].

Current-induced magnetic vortex core switching in a Permalloy nanodisk

open access: yes, 2007
We report on the switching of a magnetic vortex core in a sub-micron Permalloy disk, induced by a short current pulse applied in the film plane. Micromagnetic simulations including the adiabatic and non-adiabatic spin-torque terms are used to investigate

Effect of Anion Hydrophobicity on the Oxidation of Ferrocene‐Terminated Monolayers

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled monolayers terminated with ferrocene moieties can be oxidized using an applied potential. At the oxidized layer, anions from the electrolyte can form a layer. Experiments show a relationship between the hydrophobicity of the anion species and the redox potential.

Characteristic Analysis of Adiabatic Spray Absorption Process in Aqueous Ammonia Solution

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2013
An absorber is a key device of absorption refrigeration system, and it directly affects the performance of refrigeration system. As an important absorption type, adiabatic spray absorption process disperses the absorption fluid into fine droplets by ...

Adiabatic reduction of models of stochastic gene expression with bursting

open access: yes, 2013
This paper considers adiabatic reduction in both discrete and continuous models of stochastic gene expression. In gene expression models, the concept of bursting is a production of several molecules simultaneously and is generally represented as a ...
