Challenges and Opportunities in Combining Ultrasound and Inductive Coupling for Energy Supply and Bidirectional Data Exchange in Bioelectronics Medicine Implant Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
In this contribution, it is shown that miniaturized nerve stimulation implants can be used in collaborative networks. Inductive links and ultrasound are combined to supply these implants with energy and data; the advantages and disadvantages of each method, as well as safety risks and possibilities for improvement are discussed and the best ...

Shortcuts to quantum adiabaticity processes

open access: yes, 2011
We review different ways to accelerate adiabatic processes in cold atom physics and atomic state preparation. Trap expansions or contractions and atomic transport may be accelerated by an invariant-based inverse engineering approach. Berry's inverse engineering method is also applied to produce fast versions of adiabatic passage methods.

Analytical Solutions of the Driven Time‐Dependent Jaynes–Cummings Model

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, EarlyView.
Following the great strides made in the last decade towards the control and tunability of physical parameters in cavity quantum electrodynamics, this study presents new solutions to the dynamics of the time‐dependent Jaynes–Cummings model with variable external classical fields acting on the two‐level system and the quantized field mode.

Invariant Perturbation Theory of Adiabatic Process

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we present an invariant perturbation theory to adiabatic process according to the concepts of adiabatic orbits, adiabatic evolution orbit and U(1)-invariant adiabatic orbit. The probabilities of keeping the adiabatic orbit in the first-order and the second-order approximation are calculated, respectively.

Comparison of Two Optimization Methods for a Rydberg Quantum Gate

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, EarlyView.
Quantum gates are the backbone of digital quantum computing. A shortcut‐to‐adiabaticity is compared with a numerically optimized protocol for a Rydberg gate. The counterdiabatic method offers an analytical framework for accelerating high‐fidelity gates by mimicking the time evolution of a counterdiabatic Hamiltonian using fast‐oscillating fields.

Quantification of Small Molecule Partitioning in a Biomolecular Condensate with 2D Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
Several intrinsically disordered proteins have been shown to undergo phase separation and it is highly relevant to know how small molecule metabolites distribute between these phases. It is shown here that the partitioning can be robustly obtained from 2D time‐zero heteronuclear single quantum coherence nuclear magnetic resonance spectra recorded on ...
