Phase diagrams in blends of poly(3-hydroxybutyric acid) with various aliphatic polyesters

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2011
Phase behavior with immiscibility, miscibility, crystalline morphology, and kinetic analysis in blends of poly(3-hydroxybutyric acid) (PHB) with aliphatic polyesters such as poly(butylene adipate) (PBA), poly(ethylene adipate) (PEA), poly(trimethylene ...

Mechanical properties and structure of mixtures of poly(butylene-adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) with thermoplastic starch (TPS)

open access: yes, 2021
Mixtures of poly(butylene-adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) with thermoplastic starch (TPS) in a broad concentration range from 70:30 to 30:70 wt.% were prepared in a twin-screw extruder.

Structure‐Dependent Resonant Frequency Engineering of Textile Tactile Sensors Toward Rapid and Precise Braille Recognition Surpassing Human Sensation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A resonant frequency engineering strategy is proposed to modulate the sensibility of piezoresistive textile‐based tactile sensor. It achieves simultaneous detection of static pressure and dynamic vibrations across an unprecedented bandwidth of 5–600 Hz, surpassing human sensation, therefore enables rapid and precise braille recognition.

Cytosolic Phosphoenoylpyruvate Carboxykinase Deficiency: Clinical, Biochemical, and Genetic Features of Five Non‐Finnish Patients

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cytosolic phosphoenoylpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK‐C) is an essential, rate‐limiting enzyme in the gluconeogenesis pathway. PEPCK‐C deficiency presents with hypoglycaemia, hyperlactataemia and hepatopathy, and was first reported in association with bi‐allelic PCK1 variants in 2014.

Bio-based aliphatic polyesters of 1,4-butanediol with different diacids: Effect of carbon chain lengths on mechanical properties and enzymatic hydrolysis

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters
Polybutylene succinate, polybutylene adipate, polybutylene suberate and their copolyesters were synthesized. The physical properties and biodegradability of these polyesters were controlled by adjusting the composition of carboxyl monomers. Compared with

Synthesis, Characterization, Biological Properties, and Sensor Applications of Novel Thiosemicarbazone Derivatives

open access: yesBiotechnology and Applied Biochemistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In this study, novel thiosemicarbazone derivative molecules (5a–j) were synthesized. The characterization of the synthesized molecules was carried out using 1H–, 13C–NMR, FT–IR, and Q–TOF spectroscopic techniques. Then, the inhibitory effect of these compounds was examined for human carbonic anhydrase I and II (hCA I, and II) and ...

Influence of Vinyl Acetate-Based and Epoxy-Based Compatibilizers on the Design of TPS/PBAT and TPS/PBAT/PBSA Films

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The study investigated the effect of Vinnex® (vinyl acetate polymer) and Joncryl® (epoxy-based copolymer) as compatibilizers on the mechanical properties of thermoplastic starch (TPS) and polybutylene adipate-co-terephthalate (PBAT) and polybutylene ...

Xylose Acetals ‐ a New Class of Sustainable Solvents and Their Application in Enzymatic Polycondensation

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
Novel organic solvents with an unmodified carbohydrate core were synthesised both from D‐xylose and directly from biomass and were successfully used as reaction media for lipase biocatalysts to synthesise aliphatic and aromatic polyesters. Abstract The use of organic solvents in academic research and industry applications is facing increasing ...
