Adjoint affine fusion and tadpoles
We study affine fusion with the adjoint representation. For simple Lie algebras, elementary and universal formulas determine the decomposition of a tensor product of an integrable highest-weight representation with the adjoint representation.

Local + stable adjointness = adjointness
AbstractThis paper proves the assertion “local + stable adjointness = adjointness” by first describing all three functor properties involved in terms of the existence of initial or rigid least objects in certain comma categories, and then giving a criterion for a rigid least object to be initial. Here, rigid means having only one endomorphism and least

Adjoint Methods as Design Tools in Thermoacoustics
In a thermoacoustic system, such as a flame in a combustor, heat release oscillations couple with acoustic pressure oscillations. If the heat release is sufficiently in phase with the pressure, these oscillations can grow, sometimes with catastrophic ...

Neural Fields for Highly Accelerated 2D Cine Phase Contrast MRI
ABSTRACT 2D cine phase contrast (CPC) MRI provides quantitative information on blood velocity and flow within the human vasculature. However, data acquisition is time‐consuming, motivating the reconstruction of the velocity field from undersampled measurements to reduce scan times. In this work, neural fields are proposed as a continuous spatiotemporal

Fully turbulent discrete adjoint solver for non-ideal compressible flow applications
Non-Ideal Compressible Fluid-Dynamics (NICFD) has recently been established as a sector of fluid mechanics dealing with the flows of dense vapors, supercritical fluids, and two-phase fluids, whose properties significantly depart from those of the ideal ...

A probabilistic framework based on random time‐space coding metasurfaces enables control of the spatial distribution of electromagnetic fields temporal statistics. By tailoring the marginal and joint distributions of random codes, electromagnetic fields with desired mean and variance patterns are realized, enabling simultaneous transmission and jamming.

The Optimization of a Volute Downstream of a Vaned Radial Compressor
Volutes downstream of radial compressor impellers and their respective diffusors have proven to be useful flow geometries, as they collect and deflect the swirling mass flow efficiently and feature a compact shape.

A note on adjoint error estimation for one-dimensional stationary balance laws with shocks
We consider one-dimensional steady-state balance laws with discontinuous solutions. Giles and Pierce realized that a shock leads to a new term in the adjoint error representation for target functionals. This term disappears if and only if the adjoint ...
