The Adjustment Property

An input–output (IO) system which is capable of producing any semi-positive net product by an adequate choice of the activity levels of its processes satisfies the ‘adjustment’ property. We analyze under which conditions the adjustment property holds for IO systems in which some produced goods have a purely intermediate character.

Adjustable Microforceps

The commonly used microforceps have a much greater opening distance and spring resistance than needed. A piece of plastic ring or rubber band can be used to adjust the opening distance and reduce most of the spring resistance, making the user feel more comfortable and less fatigued.

A new wider aperture teat allows babies to take specially prescribed thicker feed, often needed for intestinal problems when normal solutions cannot be kept down. Made in clear silicone, the nippleshaped teat (pictured below) has a variable slot opening that opens and closes according to the angle at which it is put into the baby's mouth.
