Tuberculin skin test and interferon‐γ release assays: Can they agree?

Tuberculin skin test (TST) and interferon‐gamma release assay (IGRA) are two assays based on cell‐mediated immunity (memory T cell response) available for screening potential cases of latent tuberculosis infections. 16.5% (IGRA/TST‐5 mm) and 20.5% (IGRA/TST‐10 mm) of the patients presented different outcomes in the tests.
