Recovering European River Invertebrate Communities Homogenize or Differentiate Depending on Anthropogenic Stress. [PDF]

open access: yesGlob Chang Biol
(a) European river invertebrate communities showed an average increase in local richness over time (1994–2023), indicating partial local recovery following the alleviation of anthropogenic stress (e.g., point‐source pollution). However, this local recovery was not accompanied by increases in β‐diversity, likely due to persistent, unaddressed stressors,

A mixed‐methods evaluation of why an implementation trial failed to engage veterans with posttraumatic stress disorder in trauma‐focused psychotherapy

open access: yesJournal of Traumatic Stress, Volume 36, Issue 4, Page 762-771, August 2023., 2023
Abstract An effectiveness trial found that telemedicine collaborative care for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) significantly increased engagement in trauma‐focused psychotherapy (TFP) and improved PTSD symptoms. However, in a subsequent implementation trial, very few veterans enrolled in collaborative care initiated TFP.

Geospatial data and web based tools for managing irrigation infrastructure expansion projects

open access: yesWorld Water Policy, Volume 9, Issue 3, Page 388-403, August 2023., 2023
Abstract Improving irrigation infrastructure is important for sustaining food security in developing countries like India. The irrigation potential of a system is estimated at the planning phase using conventional approaches. A mismatch in the irrigation potential planned to be created and the land suitable for cultivation can lead to a gap in the ...

Pay to protect: Examining the factors of the use of market‐based instruments for local water sustainability

open access: yesReview of Policy Research, Volume 40, Issue 2, Page 207-229, March 2023., 2023
Abstract Given the myriad of policy instruments aimed at enhancing water quantity conservation available to municipalities, what drives them to opt for a market‐based instrument (MBI)? MBIs can be effective and efficient policy instruments to enhance water quantity conservation, but there is little known about why municipalities utilize them.

Practical guide to coproduction in conservation science

open access: yesConservation Biology, Volume 37, Issue 1, February 2023., 2023
Abstract We considered a series of conservation‐related research projects on the island of Pemba, Tanzania, to reflect on the broad significance of Beier et al.’s recommendations for linking conservation science with practical conservation outcomes. The implementation of just some of their suggestions can advance a successful coproduction of actionable
