THE ROLE OF PROFESSIONAL CONTROL IN THE MANAGEMENT OF COMPLEX ORGANIZATIONS* [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The limitations of formal administrative controls in organizations performing complex production tasks have created the need for less obtrusive forms of management control.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

The Impact of Cybersecurity and Administrative Regulation on Rights and Freedoms in the Digital Age

open access: yesمجلة القانون، المجتمع والسلطة
While the concept of public rights and freedoms has evolved with its multiple generations, the environments that embrace the practice of those rights and freedoms have multiplied in return, the latest of which is the digital environment that has embraced

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Control of the Administration and competition policy

open access: yesUNIO – EU Law Journal, 2019
This article seeks to analyse what is the purpose competition law serves in today’s society and reflect on how significant public authorities are in its application, both with an active and passive role. It analyses the main channels open to competition authorities, in order to bring to light possible breaches of competition principles committed by ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...
