Mapping Non‐Linear ESG Trajectories in OECD Countries: A Topological Entropy Approach

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines the evolution of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance across 38 OECD countries between 2010 and 2024 using a longitudinal and multi‐dimensional analytical framework. Moving beyond static ESG benchmarking approaches, it investigates how sustainability trajectories evolve under changing institutional ...

Legal Professionals Use an Implicit Checklist to Assess Expert Witness Credibility

open access: yesBehavioral Sciences &the Law, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In a court of law, some forms of evidence are too technical to interpret without the help of an expert witness. However, expert testimony sometimes leads to wrongful conviction. We used an online survey to quantitatively compare how legal professionals (n = 122) and lay people (n = 109) understood what makes an expert witness credible.

Accelerating SCF Convergence Through Equivariant Density‐Matrix Learning and Analytic Refinement

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Machine learning predicts physically consistent one‐electron reduced density matrices that provide efficient initial guesses for self‐consistent field calculations. Across diverse molecular systems, this warm‐start strategy reduces the required self‐consistent‐field (SCF) iterations by up to 80% while preserving converged energies and atomic forces ...

Performance change detection and recovery in inferential control loops

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract In most industrial environments, soft sensors are crucial for estimating variables that are hard to measure. It is critical that these variables be estimated quickly and accurately because they are closely linked to plant safety and profit. Therefore, performance drift in the soft sensors cannot be ignored.

Harnessing machine learning and optimization for informed chemical engineering decisions: A styrene reactor analysis

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
This study shows that integrating multiple machine learning models with optimization and decision‐making improves chemical process design, and that a consensus‐based strategy across models provides more robust and reliable operating recommendations than any single model, especially under limited or noisy data conditions.

A Geometric Characterization of Steady Laminar Flow

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We study the steady states of the Euler equations on the periodic channel or annulus. We show that if these flows are laminar (layered by closed non‐contractible streamlines which foliate the domain), then they must be either parallel or circular flows.

From Biological Mechanisms to Causal Inference: Quantitative Systems Pharmacology and Causal Frameworks in Drug Development

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Digital patients and in silico clinical trials offer new opportunities to advance pharmacological research, clinical development, and regulatory decision‐making by enabling the simulation of treatment effects prior to testing in patients. Among the most promising of these opportunities is the combined use of quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) and ...

Admissibility of evidence in criminal process

open access: yes, 2014

When Managerial Values Become CSR Practices: A Configurational Analysis of Activation Conditions in SMEs

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Corporate social responsibility (CSR) engagement varies considerably across small and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs), yet the conditions under which owner‐managers' values are associated with organisational practices remain insufficiently understood.
