Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

Stability of analgesic admixtures. Degradation and compatibility of common compounds in singular and binary admixtures in use for palliative treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Analgesic admixtures are given subcutaneously using patient-controlled analgesia devices and are often used in palliative care. The admixtures contain in most cases several compounds to treat multiple conditions.

Effect of Admixtures Treated by Magnetic Field on Concrete

open access: yes, 2011
This research investigates the mechanical property of the concrete which were mixed with chemical admixtures and treated by magnetic field. Two chemical admixtures were used in this research: Concrete superplasiticizer SW-4 and early strength admixtures ...

Expansive admixtures in structural grout

open access: yes, 1993
Shrinkage compensating cements currently used in structural grouts do not provide the required volume stability in some in-service environments. Consequently, some grout manufacturers use expansive admixtures.

Machine Learning‐Supported Analysis for Predicting and Visualizing Nonlinear Relationships Between Material Properties in Electroplated Chromium Layers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study applies machine learning regression to predict chromium layer thickness in decorative trivalent chromium electroplating, using 441 experiments from laboratory‐scale (1L) and pilot‐scale (14L) setups. Tree‐based models, particularly CatBoost, outperformed linear regression by capturing nonlinear parameter interactions (R2$R^2$ up to 0.77 ...

Comparison of Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Energy Absorbers Under Uniaxial Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates LCD 3D printed Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structures as mechanical energy absorbers. By comparing various base designs and layered combinations under uniaxial compression, it identifies that a Diamond‐Gyroid sandwich structure offers superior performance.

Utilization of Chemical Admixtures for Concrete Production

open access: yes, 2006
Nowadays especially, in ready-mixed concrete plants utilization of chemical admixtures is very common. Chemical admixtures improve the properties of concrete. If they used unconsciously results should be detrimental.

NATURAL AND CHEMICAL ADMIXTURES IN CONCRETE- A REVIEW [PDF]

open access: yes
To understand the effect of different natural and chemical admixtures on the properties of conventional and high strength concrete, an extensive literature review was done. It is known that chemical admixtures are composed of substances that are added to

Optimizing the composition of micro concrete admixtures.

open access: yes, 2016
The aim of this paper is to summarize knowledges related to the use of fine-grained admixtures in cement composites. By utilizing of these admixtures it is possible to achieve extreme properties, especially high strenght and durability of concrete. These

A Practical Noise2Noise Denoising Pipeline for High‐Throughput Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A lightweight and reproducible denoising pipeline for high‐throughput Raman spectroscopy is introduced, based on a 1D convolutional autoencoder trained with a Noise2Noise strategy. Using only repeated short‐exposure acquisitions, the method suppresses stochastic noise without reference spectra, enabling reliable spectral reconstruction while preserving
