Targeting CXCR2 in Nociceptive Sensory Neurons Offers Novel Therapeutic Potentials for Postoperative Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tissue incision induces CXCL5 release, which activates neuronal CXCR2 on incision‐innervating sensory neurons. Neuronal CXCR2 couples with TRPA1 to drive mechanical pain and engages p38 MAPK signaling to upregulate TRPV1 and promote heat pain. Targeted Cxcr2 knockdown relieves incisional pain while preserving CXCR2‐dependent neutrophil responses ...

Mosquito Net Adoption and Its Impact on Malaria Transmission in Zanzibar's Villages

open access: yes, 2005
Malaria remains a significant public health concern in Zanzibar's rural villages, particularly due to its vector control strategies that include insecticide-treated nets (ITNs). The research employed qualitative methods, including semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions with local residents and village leaders.

SynNotch Receptors for Visualizing Immunoreceptor Force Transmission and Downstream Signaling In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A mechanically activated SynNotch reporter platform enables detection of force transmission through receptors as they mediate immune cell interactions. Targeting CD40 on B cells and TCR on T cells records force‐induced reporter activation across 2D coculture, 3D organoid, and implanted in mice, which also reveal force‐amplification of immune receptor ...

The Rural Retail Revolution: A Study on Brand Adoption in India's Villages

open access: yes
Rural India is changing, and so are its consumers. While affordability remains a key factor, rural buyers are becoming more brand-conscious, influenced by rising incomes, better education, and greater exposure to media. However, brands still face challenges in reaching these markets, including limited distribution, infrastructure gaps, and ...

From Sensing Mechanisms to System Co‐Design: Graphene‐Based Sensors and Readout Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review establishes a unified PS–EQ–RF framework linking graphene sensing mechanisms, native electrical outputs, and output‐specific readout circuits. Voltage‐, current‐, resistance‐, and capacitance‐type sensing systems are systematically classified to guide architecture selection, low‐noise design, system co‐design, and practical integration ...

A Reconfigurable Memristive Spiking Neuron Enabling Advanced Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pek Jun Tiw and co‐workers develop a reconfigurable memristive neuron that can exhibit four spiking behaviors with freely tunable spike train parameters. The neuron supports multiplexed spike encoding of multiple pieces of information. It also supports advanced neural network strategies, such as neural heterogeneity and dynamic mode switching ...

Scan‐Path‐ and Initial‐State‐Dependent Superdomain Switching in (111)‐Oriented PZT

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Scan trajectory and initial superdomain topology govern polarization switching in (111)‐oriented PZT. Automated AFM writing, pulsing experiments, and interferometric 3D‐PFM show that raster scans reproducibly stabilize ordered Type‐I stripe superdomains with constrained variant selection, whereas spiral trajectories generate frustrated mixed‐variant ...

Stretchable Energy Storage with Eutectic Gallium Indium Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 15, Issue 11, March 18, 2025.
A highly stretchable liquid metal‐based electrode is developed via a one‐step process, retaining conductivity and capacitance after mechanical deformation up to 900% strain. The stretchable all‐solid‐state device provides a areal energy density of 43 µWh cm⁻2 after 150% strain.
