Early positive tactile stimulation reverses the increase of anxiety and decrease of sociality induced by early chronic mechanical pain in mandarin voles

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, Volume 20, Issue 4, Page 712-727, July 2025.
This study used a tail‐pinching model during development to simulate mechanical pain experienced by pups in high‐social mandarin voles (Microtus mandarinus). Subsequently, brush‐like positive tactile stimuli were applied to the backs of the mandarin voles.

The Role of Oxytocin and Oxytocin Gene Receptor Methylation During Withdrawal Therapy in Males With Alcohol Use Disorder

open access: yesAddiction Biology, Volume 30, Issue 7, July 2025.
This study investigates the effect of alcohol withdrawal therapy on promoter methylation of the oxytocin and oxytocin receptor gene. We found significantly higher mean methylation values of the receptor gene in controls compared with patients across withdrawal and no differences in mean methylation of the oxytocin gene.

Tools to Predict Unilateral Primary Aldosteronism and Optimise Patient Selection for Adrenal Vein Sampling: A Systematic Review

open access: yesClinical Endocrinology, Volume 103, Issue 1, Page 3-12, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Objective Primary aldosteronism (PA), the most common endocrine cause of hypertension, is evaluated using adrenal vein sampling (AVS), to determine if aldosterone excess is bilateral or unilateral. AVS is invasive and technically challenging; it would ideally be used only in those with unilateral PA who are candidates for surgical cure.

Oxytocin Intervention Mitigates Pathological and Behavioral Impairments in APP/PS1 Mice Subjected to Early Social Isolation

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 31, Issue 7, July 2025.
Social isolation exacerbates anxiety, depression, and social cognitive deficits in early‐stage AD mice by disrupting the oxytocin system, while intranasal oxytocin mitigates behavioral abnormalities, reduces pathological damage, and restores gut microbiota homeostasis.

Roles and Impacts of Integrative Medical Interventions in Central Nervous System Tumor Treatment: Multi‐Technology Convergence and the Paradigm Shift Toward Functional Reconstruction

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 31, Issue 7, July 2025.
Multi‐technology interventions (non‐invasive neuromodulation, AI, 3D organoids) for CNS tumor treatment shift from monotherapy to functional reconstruction. They address BBB restriction, tumor heterogeneity, and immune suppression via biological–psychological–technological convergence, enabling precision oncology through dynamic monitoring and ...

Announcing the Biomedical Data Translator: Initial Public Release

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 18, Issue 7, July 2025.
ABSTRACT The growing availability of biomedical data offers vast potential to improve human health, but the complexity and lack of integration of these datasets often limit their utility. To address this, the Biomedical Data Translator Consortium has developed an open‐source knowledge graph–based system—Translator—designed to integrate, harmonize, and ...
