Systematized delusions in a patient with covert hepatic encephalopathy: A clinicopathological insight into prodromal dementia with Lewy bodies

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences Reports, Volume 4, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Background Late‐onset psychosis is an early clinical manifestation of psychiatric‐onset prodromal dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB); however, its underlying neuropathology remains poorly understood. Clinicopathological correlations are often limited by the gap between symptom onset and the autopsy.

Modified electroconvulsive therapy for severe malnutrition secondary to obsessive–compulsive disorder: A case report

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences Reports, Volume 4, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Background Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) is a chronic psychiatric condition marked by intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors. In rare cases, severe contamination or defecation fears lead to extreme dietary restriction and life‐threatening malnutrition. Although a handful of cases have been reported, none describe the use of modified

Automated Microfluidic Platform for Single Spheroid Culture and Extracellular Vesicle Isolation: Application to Spheroid Transcriptomic Profiling

open access: yesSmall, Volume 21, Issue 48, December 3, 2025.
An automated microfluidic platform enables single‐spheroid culture, continuous EV collection, and efficient isolation using size filtration and immunomagnetic capture, unlocking spheroid heterogeneity. The system captures CD63/CD81‐positive EVs from individual spheroids with 60% yield. Using adrenocortical carcinoma spheroids, the platform reveals that

Association Between Arterial Stiffness and Bone Microarchitectural Deterioration in Type 2 Diabetes: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes, Volume 17, Issue 12, December 2025.
Identified baPWV as a novel independent influencing factor of bone microarchitecture deterioration in T2DM, elucidating a bone–vascular axis. Proposes baPWV as a practical indicator for simultaneous cardiovascular and fracture risk assessment in diabetic patients.

Cocaine and Morphine Converge to Disrupt Chloride Homeostasis in Ventral Tegmental Area GABA Neurons

open access: yesAddiction Biology, Volume 30, Issue 12, December 2025.
Drug exposure alters VTA circuitry across drug classes. We show that acute morphine and cocaine, but not saline, disrupt chloride homeostasis in VTA GABA neurons, producing a depolarized GABAA reversal potential, impaired chloride extrusion, and posttranslational downregulation of KCC2. A glucocorticoid receptor antagonist did not prevent these effects;

Predicted Adult Height Remained Normal in Children With Premature Adrenarche Despite Advanced Bone Age

open access: yesActa Paediatrica, Volume 114, Issue 12, Page 3258-3266, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Aim Aetiological factors affecting the phenotype of adrenarche are largely unknown. This study investigated the phenotypic variability of premature adrenarche. Methods In this cross‐sectional retrospective registry study, data on 91 mainly Caucasian children diagnosed with premature adrenarche were retrieved from patient records.
