Hepatic KLF9 Deficiency Inhibits Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA)‐Induced Polycystic Ovary Syndrome via Liver‐Ovary Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study shows that liver is a previously unrecognized extraovarian organ that plays a key role about androgen homeostasis in the development of DHEA‐induced PCOS. DHEA is the most common precursor of active androgen, such as DHT, and KLF9 is required for the conversion of DHEA to DHT and hepatic KLF9 might be a potential therapeutic target for PCOS ...

Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor of adrenal gland with heterologus osseous differentiation in a case of Von Recklinghausen′s disease

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology, 2014
Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) of the adrenal gland is extremely rare. Most of them occur in association with neurofibromatosis, ganglioneuroma or as part of a composite tumor such as pheochromocytoma.

Stress‐Induced Activation of Prolactin‐NR4A1‐Midkine Axis Exacerbates Skin Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chronic psychological stress activates prolactin signaling to reprogram dermal fibroblasts into APCDD1+ inflammatory effectors via NR4A1, driving midkine secretion. This paracrine hub amplifies keratinocyte proliferation and immune recruitment, thus exacerbating skin inflammation.

Histological characteristics of accessory adrenal glands of rabbits with different types of autonomous tonus

open access: yesНауковий вісник Львівського національного університету ветеринарної медицини та біотехнологій імені С.З. Ґжицького: Серія Ветеринарні науки, 2019
For the purposes of the adrenal gland’s study, 27 four months old male rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) of Termond White breed were selected. Based on electrocardiography and variation pulsometry results, three types of autonomous tonus were determined in

Label-free enrichment of adrenal cortical progenitor cells using inertial microfluidics. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Passive and label-free isolation of viable target cells based on intrinsic biophysical cellular properties would allow for cost savings in applications where molecular biomarkers are known as well as potentially enable the separation of cells with little-

Folic Acid‐Modified Ginger‐Derived Exosome‐Like Nanoparticles Co‐Delivering Sunitinib Suppress Renal Cell Carcinoma via PI3K‐Akt Pathway Inhibition, P‐gp Downregulation, and Macrophage Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FPD‐GELNs co‐deliver Su and bioactive components. This active‐passive dual‐targeting strategy suppresses the progression of RCC through the following mechanisms: 1) inhibition of the PI3K‐Akt signaling pathway; 2) downregulation of ABCB1/P‐gp to enhance the chemosensitivity of RCC to Su; and 3) reprogramming of macrophages toward M1 polarization and ...

Migrasomes in Ischemic Stroke: Molecular Landscape and Pathophysiological Impact

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐omics profiling of stroke patients exposes systemic molecular fingerprints of immune activation, oxidative stress and metabolic collapse. Complement and coagulation cascade, and cholesterol metabolism emerge as shared functional hallmarks of plasma migrasomes in stroke patients and migrasomes isolated from experimental stroke mice.

Sonographic evaluation of adrenal size in neonates (23 to 41 weeks of gestation)

open access: yesBMC Pediatrics, 2018
Background Fetal adrenal gland size is known to have a positive correlation with both gestational age and estimated body weight. In contrast, some clinical observations suggest that maturation of the adrenal stress response occurs after 30 weeks of ...

A rare case of synovial sarcoma with lung, heart and adrenal gland metastasis: a caution for patients and clinicians

open access: yesJournal of International Medical Research, 2021
A 68-year-old man presented to the Urology Clinic, West China Hospital, Chengdu, with a suspected right adrenal gland mass that had persisted for two months. He had no associated lumbodynia, dizziness or palpitation.
