Para-adrenal schwannoma mimicking a giant adrenal lesion. [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ Case Rep, 2021
A 57-year-old man was incidentally diagnosed with a 7 cm left-sided retroperitoneal mass. The mass was presumed to be arising from the left adrenal gland on a CT scan of the adrenal glands. Thus, a thorough workup ensued, looking into the possible functionality of the lesion. All investigations resulted in the negative.

Laparoscopic resection of an adrenal schwannoma. [PDF]

open access: yesJSLS, 2012
Schwannomas are tumors originating from Schwann cells of the peripheral nerve sheath (neurilemma) of the neuroectoderm. Rarely, schwannomas can arise from the retroperitoneum and adrenal medulla. We describe a case of a 71-y-old woman who presented with an incidentally discovered adrenal tumor.Ultrasound and computed tomography scans revealed a lesion ...

Adrenal Schwannoma: A Rare but Important Consideration in Adrenal Tumors. [PDF]

open access: yesCureus
Adrenal schwannomas (AS) are rare and are often detected incidentally on imaging studies. Due to their nonspecific imaging characteristics and typically normal endocrine profiles, definitive diagnosis relies on histopathological examination. This case report presents a 72-year-old male patient with a 4.6 cm right adrenal mass, initially suspected to be

Ancient schwannoma and myelolipoma coexist in an adrenal incidentaloma

open access: yesUrological Science, 2015
Ancient schwannoma is rare in the adrenal gland and so is myelolipoma. These two uncommon tumors existing together in one adrenal incidentaloma is extremely rare, and have gone unreported in the literature to date.

Adrenal Schwannomas: Rare Tumor of the Retroperitoneum [PDF]

open access: yesCase Reports in Surgery, 2015
Schwannoma is a benign neurogenic tumor originating from Schwann cells. These produce the myelin sheath that covers peripheral nerves that are often affected.

Primary adrenal schwannoma with catecholamine hypersecretion. [PDF]

open access: yesArch Med Sci, 2016
Schwannomas are benign tumors of the nerve sheath Schwann cell or nerve cell sheath, so the tumor is also called neurilemmoma. Although this tumor can involve any place where Schwann cells are present, it arises predominantly in the head and neck region or the flexor surfaces of the extremities.

Rare adrenal schwannoma treated with robotic-assisted adrenalectomy: A case report [PDF]

open access: yesUrology Case Reports
Schwannomas are benign neoplasms that arise from peripheral nerve sheaths. Typically found in peripheral nerves of the head, neck, and extremities, these tumors seldom arise in the retroperitoneum.
