Managing toxicities associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors: consensus recommendations from the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) Toxicity Management Working Group. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Cancer immunotherapy has transformed the treatment of cancer. However, increasing use of immune-based therapies, including the widely used class of agents known as immune checkpoint inhibitors, has exposed a discrete group of immune-related adverse ...

Clinical and Radiometabolic Correlatives of ddPCR Liquid Biopsy for BRAF V600 Mutated Melanoma

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
Commercial circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) liquid biopsy tests are increasingly used for disease monitoring and surveillance in melanoma. However, data regarding the possible correlations between ctDNA and baseline clinical and radiometabolic parameters such as metastatic locations, tumor volume, and tumor glycolysis in patients with BRAF‐mutated ...

Development of a prediction model by combining tumor diameter and clinical parameters of adrenal incidentaloma

open access: yesEndocrine Journal
When adrenal incidentalomas are detected, diagnostic procedures are complicated by the need for endocrine-stimulating tests and imaging using various modalities to evaluate whether the tumor is a hormone-producing adrenal tumor.

Subclinical cardiac alterations and cardiometabolic profile in adolescents with newly diagnosed polycystic ovary syndrome: A cross‐sectional comparative echocardiographic study

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective While cardiometabolic comorbidities have been well established in adults with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), it remains unclear whether the early signs of cardiovascular morbidity emerge during adolescence. This study aimed to investigate whether metabolic and cardiovascular alterations begin in adolescents with PCOS.

Complement C3 mediates adolescent social isolation‐induced hippocampal synaptic deficits and sex‐specific emotional dysfunction

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
Adolescent social isolation disrupts hippocampal function and exacerbates emotional symptoms, with sex‐specific patterns, as shown by human studies. In mice, social isolation decreased hippocampal synaptic density and calcium signaling, upregulated complement proteins, and activated complement‐mediated microglial synaptic phagocytosis.

Large but benign adrenal mass: Adrenal oncocytoma

open access: yesIndian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2012
Adrenal incidentalomas of more than 4 cm size are usually malignant. We describe a 28-year-old woman with a 7-cm, non-functioning, well-demarcated adrenal mass, which was identified as an oncocytoma on histopathological examination.

Tumors OF THE Adrenals [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, 1934
A review of 371 cases of malignant tumors coming to autopsy at the State Institute for the Study of Malignant Disease revealed 49 cases in which the adrenal gland showed metastatic involvement. Two cases of primary adrenal tumors, one a medullary type tumor in a three-year-old boy, the other arising in the cortex of the right adrenal of a female of ...
