Food for everyone: Differential feeding habits of cryptic bat species inferred from DNA metabarcoding. [PDF]
Abstract Ecological theory postulates that niches of co‐occurring species must differ along some ecological dimensions in order to allow their stable coexistence. Yet, many biological systems challenge this competitive exclusion principle. Insectivorous bats from the Northern Hemisphere typically form local assemblages of multiple species sharing ...

Abstract Georg Simon Ohm's work in the field of electricity led to what is now considered to be the most fundamental law of electrical circuits, Ohm's Law. Much less known is that only months earlier, Ohm had published another law—one that differed significantly from the now accepted one. The latter entailed a logarithmic relation between the length of

Two new orthogonal functions named the left‐ and the right‐shifted fractional‐order Legendre polynomials (SFLPs) are proposed. Several useful formulas for the SFLPs are directly generalized from the classic Legendre polynomials. The left and right fractional differential expressions in Caputo sense of the SFLPs are derived.
