Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Effects of Different Polyethyleneimine Molecular Weights on CO2 Adsorption on Activated Carbon

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2014
Effects of different polyethyleneimine (PEI) molecular weights on CO2 adsorption on activated carbon (AC) were investigated. The PEI loading was varied using different PEI initial concentrations from 1 to 5 g/L. CO2 adsorption isotherms were investigated

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Studies Of Copper-Impregnated Activated Carbon For Cyanide Removal [TD758.5.C93 S525 2007 f rb]. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In the present work, two types of locally manufactured granular activated carbon from Kekwa Industry (KI66G and P1814G) and Versatec Industry carbon (A, C and H) were used to study their cyanide adsorption capacity.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Enhanced light-responsive CO2 adsorption by optimizing azobenzene concentration and introducing an adsorption site

open access: yesJournal of CO2 Utilization
CO2 adsorption through azobenzene compound light-switching regulation has been extensively investigated. The light responsiveness is significantly influenced by azobenzene (AZO) concentration and adsorption sites, and the complex effects involved in ...

Mechanism of heavy alkane influence on CO2 and CH4 competitive adsorption in shale [PDF]

open access: yesYouqicang pingjia yu kaifa
In shale gas reservoirs, CH4 often coexists with heavy alkanes such as C2H6 and C3H8. To investigate the mechanism by which heavy alkanes affect the competitive adsorption of CH4 and CO2 in organic nanopores of shale, this study combines density ...

DNA‐Templated 2D Heterostructures as Phototriggered Dynamic Nanohybrids: From Releasing Molecular Loads to Controlling Enzyme Biocatalytic Function

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

Study on the adsorption of Cr(VI) and atrazine by biochar

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The application of biochar in soil has demonstrated benefits in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving soil properties, enriching soil microbial communities, and effectively adsorbing pollutants to limit their mobility.

Gas Adsorption Capacity of Wood Pellets

open access: yesEnergy & Fuels, 2016
In this study, temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) analysis was used to measure and analyze the adsorption of off-gases and oxygen by wood pellets during storage. Such information on how these gases interact with the material helps in the understanding of the purging/stripping behavior of off-gases to develop effective ventilation strategies for ...
