Adsorption isotherm of non-azeotropic solution onto porous adsorbents [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Adsorption isotherm is essential component in the understanding of the adsorption process. Several methods of the measurements, analysis and interpretation of adsorption from solution have been reported in the literature.

Stoma‐Shell Nanoarchitecture for Enhanced Plasma Confinement Catalysis in Synthesis of Ethanol from CO2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐energy electron impact in plasma catalysis often causes excessive dissociation of active intermediates, limiting C2+ product selectivity. To address this challenge, a bio‐inspired stoma‐shell nanoarchitecture is designed to decouple electron impact from catalytic reaction zones.

Adsorption of pentachlorophenol onto activated carbon in a fixed bed : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Technology in Environmental Engineering at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The adsorption of pentachlorophenol (PCP) from water onto granular activated carbon (GAC) was studied. Equilibrium and kinetic behaviour was studied, and the results used to predict fixed bed adsorber behaviour.

The Frenkel Adsorption Isotherm [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1929
DURING an investigation into the temperature coefficient of the adsorption maximum of gases on a solid surface, we have had occasion to examine the Frenkel adsorption isotherm. This is written (Zeit. f. Phys., 26, 133; 1924, equation 9a):

From Single Atoms to Nanoparticles: Pathways Toward Efficient and Durable Pt/TiO2 Photocatalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Platinum single atoms on TiO2 nanosheets evolve into clusters and nanoparticles under ethanol photoreforming and thermal treatments. By controlling deposition and post‐treatments, particle size and location on specific facets are modulated. The study reveals how stability pathways determine efficiency, guiding the design of more durable photocatalysts.

Solar Air Conditioning with Metal Organic Frameworks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Air conditioning is responsible for 5% of energy consumption in the United States as is increasingly in demand across the world as the global middle class continues to grow in size. During hotter months, electricity used to power cooling systems becomes

Photothermal Macroporous Lignin Cryogels for Off‐Grid, Continuous Atmospheric Water Collection via Interlayer Heat Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Photothermal, macroporous lignin‐based cryogels are engineered to convert sunlight into low‐grade heat. Integrated as stacked beds in a drum‐type device, a thin copper interlayer transfers waste heat between beds, enabling interlayer heat recovery and continuous solar cycling.

Adsorption and desorption dynamics of citric acid anions in soil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The functional role of organic acid anions (e.g. citrate, oxalate, malonate, etc) in soil has been intensively investigated with special focus either on (i) microbial respiration and soil carbon dynamics, (ii) nutrient solubilization, or (iii) metal ...
