Study of Adsorption-Desorption on Batik Industrial Dyes (Naphthol Blue Black) on Magnetite Modified Humic Acid (HA-Fe3O4)

open access: yesJurnal Kimia Sains dan Aplikasi, 2020
The rapid development of the batik industry can pollute water resources and become an increasingly severe problem. This research studies the adsorption-desorption of naphthol blue-black (one of the dyes in batik liquid waste) by magnetite modified humic ...

Digitization of Adsorption Isotherms from "The Thermodynamics and Hysteresis of Adsorption''

open access: yesJournal of Research of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, 2021
Sorption isotherms collected from tables in the seminal dissertation, “The Thermodynamics and Hysteresis of Adsorption” by A. J. Brown, have been digitized and made publicly available, along with supporting software scripts that facilitates usage of the data.

Removal of mercury (II) from aqueous solution by using rice residues [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Sorption potential of rice residues for Hg(II) removal from aqueous solution was investigated. Rice husk (RH) and rice straw (RS) were selected and treated with sodium hydroxide (NaOH).

Adsorption and removal of direct red 31 by Cu-MOF: optimization by response surface

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 2022
Cu(PABA) is a Cu-based MOF material assembled from Cu2+ and the organic ligand p-aminobenzoic acid (PABA). Cu (PABA) was synthesized by a solvothermal method, characterized and applied to the adsorption of direct red 31 dye (DR-31). The effects of pH, DR-

Water Adsorption Isotherms of Lipids [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 2011
Hydration of bilayer lipids is a fundamental property of biological membranes. The available database of lipid hydration isotherms is fitted over the entire range of water activities by using a statistical mechanical approach that is an extension of the common Brunauer-Emmett-Teller model, to include differential energies of association for water ...

Characterization of Aluminized Layers on Inconel‐738 Alloy: Microstructure, Modeling of Aluminizing Kinetics, and Thermal Behavior

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explored how effective nickel aluminide coatings are obtained in providing oxidation resistance applied to the Inconel 738 alloy, modeling with diffusion models. In the present study, kinetics and thermal behavior of the Inconel 738 alloy were studied by the low‐temperature thermoreactive aluminizing process, which was carried out at 625°C ...

Automated adsorption isotherm device

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 1976
A device is described for the automated determination of the water adsorption isotherms of biological materials. The vapor pressure and weight of the adsorbate are measured directly with appropriate transducers, and equilibrium is defined on the basis of constant pressure.

Incorporation of Selenium into Sol–Gel‐Derived Bioactive Glass: Influence on Glass Structure, Bioactivity, and its Selective Cytotoxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Selenium was incorporated into a sol–gel‐derived bioactive glass to enable sustained therapeutic ion release. The selenium‐containing glass preserved bioactivity while selectively inducing cytotoxicity in osteosarcoma cells and maintaining osteoblastic viability.
