Modeling of type IV and V sigmoidal adsorption isotherms.
Based on the biochemical theory of multiple ligand-receptor complexes (Klotz (1946)) a sigmoidal proceeding adsorption isotherm is derived. The special case of an arbitrarily large number of equal interaction sites and a separate one yields an equation ...

An idea of designing novel sensors is proposed by creating appropriate Schottky barriers and vacancies between isomorphous Core‐CuOii/ Shell‐CuOi secondary microspheres and enhancing catalytic and spill‐over effects, and electronegativity via spontaneous biphasic separation, self‐assembly, and trace‐Ni‐doping.

CHROMIUM (III) ADSORPTION FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION BY Rhizophora apiculata TANNINS
Adsorption of Cr3+ from aqueous solution by Rhizophora apiculata tannins was investigated in batch shaking experiments. Tannins extracted from R. apiculata mangrove barks was chemically modified with formaldehyde in the basic solution of sodium hydroxide.

The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

Detection of surface-adsorbed (lipo)proteins by means of a two-step enzyme-immunoassay: a study on the Vroman effect [PDF]
In view of reports on the involvement of high-molecular-weight (HMW) kininogen and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in the Vroman effect, we studied the adsorption of fibrinogen, HMW kininogen, HDL and several other proteins from pooled human plasma and ...

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Role of Sorption Isotherms in the Analysis of Coupled Heat and Mass Fluxes in Porous Media [PDF]
The aim of this work is to show the importance of the sorption isotherms in the study of the heat and mass fluxes in unsaturated porous media. General forms of the heat and mass fluxes are presented in terms of experimentally accessible quantities.

Coating the standard polypropylene separator with a porous red phosphorous nanosheet greatly improves cycling performance in Li electrode cells. The phosphorus‐based surface chemistry deactivates electrolyte solvent decomposition and enhances the cleavage of F‐containing salt, resulting in an inorganic‐dominated electrolyte interphase (SEI) composition
