Heavy Metal Ions Adsorption from Wastewater Using Activated Carbon from Orange Peel

open access: yesE-Journal of Chemistry, 2012
Activated carbon obtained from orange peel (ACOP) was synthesized and used for the removal of heavy metal ions (Cr, Cd, and Co) from aqueous solutions. Two different adsorption models were used for analyzing data.

Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks as H_2 Adsorbents: Ab Initio Based Grand Canonical Monte Carlo Simulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We report the H_2 uptake behavior of 10 zeolitic−imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs), based on grand canonical Monte Carlo (GCMC) simulations. The force fields (FFs) describing the interactions between H_2 and ZIF in the GCMC were based on ab initio quantum ...

Equilibrium Adsorption Isotherms for H2O on Zeolite 13X

open access: yesJournal of Chemical and Engineering Data, 2019
Adsorption isotherms are reported for pure water vapor on zeolite 13X (also called zeolite NaX) pellets. Data were obtained using a gravimetric method over a temperature range of 25 to 100 °C and a pressure range of 0.006 to 25 kPa.

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

Investigation of the adsorption of anionic surfactants at different pH values by means of active carbon and the kinetics of adsorption [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2004
In this study, the effect of pH on the removal of anionic surfactants, such as linear alkyl benzene sulfonate (LABS) and dodecyl benzene sulfonate (DBS) bymeans of adsorption by activated carbon was investigated.

A Novel Data-Driven Method to Estimate Methane Adsorption Isotherm on Coals Using the Gradient Boosting Decision Tree: A Case Study in the Qinshui Basin, China

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The accurate determination of methane adsorption isotherms in coals is crucial for both the evaluation of underground coalbed methane (CBM) reserves and design of development strategies for enhancing CBM recovery. However, the experimental measurement of

Adsorption Isotherms from Chromatographic Measurements [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1945
DE VAULT1 has directed attention to the possibility of obtaining the adsorption isotherm of single solutes from chromatographic results of the 'diffuse' boundary, suggesting a differential equation for evaluating the measurements. A more useful equation can be obtained by integration of the equation ν/x–α=d1/dc. . . .

Transition from van-der-Waals to H Bonds dominated Interaction in n-Propanol physisorbed on Graphite

open access: yes, 2011
Multilayer sorption isotherms of 1-propanol on graphite have been measured by means of high-resolution ellipsometry within the liquid regime of the adsorbed film for temperatures ranging from 180 to 260 K.

Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

Study the Performance of Nanozeolite NaA on CO2 Gas Uptake

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, 2017
The adsorption isotherms and kinetic uptakes of CO2 were measured. Adsorption isotherms were measured at two temperatures 309 K and 333 K and over a pressure range of 1 to 7 bar.
