Structure‐Property Relationships in Catecholamine Coatings for Broad Surface Functionalization
Inspired by mussel adhesive proteins (MAPs), six catecholamine molecules with different molecular structure were systematically characterized and compared based on their ability to form homogeneous, reactive coatings. Highlighting candidates capable of balancing coating properties of interest, their successful use as primer layers for organic and ...

High‐Efficiency Quantum Defect Generation in Carbon Nanotubes via Oxygen‐Free Photochemistry
We show that oxygen plays an important role in quantum defect formation in carbon nanotubes and identify reaction conditions to create a range of different quantum defects for photonics and biosensing. ABSTRACT Single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) offer potential for a wide range of applications from optoelectronic devices to biomedical diagnostics.

A self‐healable polymer matrix, crosslinked via dynamic imine bonds, is synergistically coupled with a LiPF6–LiDFOB dual‐salt system to decouple Li+ from the polymer matrix, enabling fast Li+ transport. This strategy offers an effective pathway toward high‐performance, next‐generation gel‐polymer‐based Li‐metal batteries.

Molecular Origin of the Selectivity Differences between Palladium and Gold–Palladium in Benzyl Alcohol Oxidation : Different Oxygen Adsorption Properties [PDF]
The same mechanism and microkinetic model used for benzyl alcohol oxidation over Pd/C was shown to apply to benzyl alcohol oxidation over AuPd/C. Almost all of the selectivity differences could be explained by a decrease in oxygen adsorption on AuPd ...

Trinuclear iron oxo‐bridged catalytic ensembles stabilized by aspartic‐acid‐derived carbon dots provide an effective platform for alkaline oxygen evolution. Mixed‐valence charge balancing, inner‐sphere charge transport, and work‐function alignment within the N/O‐rich carbon framework promote cooperative Fe‐site chemistry and efficient OER ...

A dynamic interfacial semi‐interpenetrating polymer network is constructed by sequential assembly of β‐sheet‐rich SF and CS‐RL. The SF framework provides mechanical strength, while dynamically associated CS‐RL enables local rearrangement, allowing droplets to rapidly reconfigure without loss of interfacial integrity.

Synthesis and use of magnetic nanoparticles for the adsorption of mercury from water
This study used magnetite (Fe3O4) nanoparticles (NPs), mesoporous silica coated magnetite NPs (SCMNPs) and thiol functionalised silica-coated magnetite nanoparticles (SH-SCMNPs) for Hg(II) removal and recovery from water.
