The benefits of multidisciplinary collaboration in the successful management of two complex feline cases

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Despite a frequent misconception that behavioural concerns are diagnoses of exclusion, medical conditions and behavioural disorders are frequently inter‐related. Endothelial Netrin‐4 regulates oligodendrocyte precursor cell proliferation and differentiation via ET‐1 signaling in preterm white matter injury

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Our findings show early increased Netrin‐4 in mice with PWMI boosts angiogenesis and OPCs proliferation. Later, high levels hinder OPCs differentiation into mature cells, impairing myelination. It may act by stimulating ET‐1 secretion. Abstract Perinatal hypoxia–ischemia is a leading cause of preterm white matter injury (PWMI), yet mechanisms ...

Transient Hyperparathyroidism and Severe Intrauterine Osteopenia Linked to Novel Homozygous TRPV6 Deletion

open access: yesClinical Endocrinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Context Placental calcium (Ca2+) transport is essential for foetal bone mineralisation and development, as well as for Ca2+ homoeostasis. Rare mutations in transient receptor potential vanilloid (TRPV) 6 of the infant cause insufficient maternal‐foetal Ca2+ transport through the placenta.
