Intussusception in Adults [PDF]
To review clinical, radiological and histopathological findings of adult intussusception and its management, 18 adult patients who had been treated surgically because of intussusception were reviewed. Of the patients, 5 (27.8%) had idiopathic intussusceptions, while the other 13 (72.2%) had a definable intraluminal pathology.

Because of wideness in adults’ age range and differences in all ages’ characteristics, there have been different definitions and classifications on adults in literature, and also making different classifications are possible. Adults have been classified in three groups as adult-child, adult-adolescence and adult-adult in this study.

Asthma in the adult patient is a complex clinical syndrome. Multiple patient phenotypes and subphenotypes exist that contribute to disease heterogeneity. Whether adult asthma begins in utero, develops in childhood, or manifests for the first time in adulthood is not completely understood, nor are the mechanisms fully delineated.
