Advanced exergy analyses of an aircraft turboprop engine (TPE)

Energy, 2017
A conventional and advanced exergy analysis of an aircraft turboprop engine is presented in this paper. In this framework, the main exergy parameters of the engine components are introduced while the exergy destruction rates within the engine components are split into endogenous/exogenous and avoidable/unavoidable parts.

Sensitivity analysis of exergy destruction in a real combined cycle power plant based on advanced exergy method

Energy Conversion and Management, 2015
Abstract The advanced exergy analysis extends engineering knowledge beyond the respective conventional methods by improving the design and operation of energy conversion systems. In advanced exergy analysis, the exergy destruction is splitting into endogenous/exogenous and avoidable/unavoidable parts.

Advanced exergy analysis of a combined Brayton/Brayton power cycle

Energy, 2019
Abstract A combined Brayton/Brayton power cycle has been investigated using the advanced exergy analysis. The combustion chamber was shown to be the component with the largest exergy destruction. However, the analysis revealed that most of the irreversibility generation at the combustion chamber was endogenous and unavoidable.

Advanced Exergy Analysis of a Turbofan Engine (TFE): Splitting Exergy Destruction into Unavoidable/Avoidable and Endogenous/Exogenous

International Journal of Turbo & Jet-Engines, 2017
AbstractA conventional and advanced exergy analysis of a turbofan engine is presented in this paper. In this framework, the main exergy parameters of the engine components are introduced while the exergy destruction rates within the engine components are split into endogenous/exogenous and avoidable/unavoidable parts. Also, the mutual interdependencies

Advanced Exergy Analysis of a Compression–Absorption Cascade Refrigeration System

Journal of Energy Resources Technology, 2018
This work presents a theoretical thermodynamic study of a compression–absorption cascade refrigeration system using R134a and a lithium bromide–water solution as working fluids. First and second law of thermodynamics analyses were carried out in order to develop an advanced exergetic analysis, by splitting the total irreversibility and that of every ...
