Advanced exergy analysis of recompression supercritical CO2 cycle

Energy, 2019
Abstract Conventional and advanced exergy analysis of a recompression supercritical CO2 cycle was investigated in this study. The first and second splitting levels of exergy destruction are calculated to determine the real potential of enhancement for the S-CO2 cycle performance.

Advanced exergy analysis of ash agglomerating fluidized bed gasification

Energy Conversion and Management, 2019
Abstract Exergy-based analysis is a powerful method to evaluate, understand, and improve energy conversion processes. Compared with conventional exergy analysis, advanced exergy analysis can identify the improvement potential of each component and the interactions among components of the whole system.

Advanced exergy analysis of a combined Brayton/Brayton power cycle

Energy, 2019
Abstract A combined Brayton/Brayton power cycle has been investigated using the advanced exergy analysis. The combustion chamber was shown to be the component with the largest exergy destruction. However, the analysis revealed that most of the irreversibility generation at the combustion chamber was endogenous and unavoidable.

Advanced exergy analysis of solar absorption-subcooled compression hybrid cooling system

International Journal of Green Energy, 2021
The solar absorption-subcooled compression hybrid cooling system (SASCHCS), in which the cooling capacity of absorption subsystem serves as the subcooling power of compression subsystem, is energy-...

Exploring avoidable carbon emissions by reducing exergy destruction based on advanced exergy analysis: A case study

Energy, 2020
Abstract The energy efficiency improvement and practicable carbon emission reduction of coal chemical industry as well as other industrial systems are major concerns associated with designing feasible carbon emission reduction scheme. Based on advanced exergy analysis, this study establishes quantitative analysis between exergy destruction and direct

Conventional and advanced exergy analysis of an ejector refrigeration system

Applied Energy, 2015
This paper presents a comprehensive investigation of an ejector refrigeration system using conventional and advanced exergy analysis. Splitting the exergy destruction within each system component into endogenous/exogenous and avoidable/unavoidable parts provides additional useful information and improves the quality of the exergy analysis.

First and second level of exergy destruction splitting in advanced exergy analysis for an existing boiler

Energy Conversion and Management, 2015
Abstract When complex energy systems are analyzed and when a large number of their components is observed, the destruction of exergy related to a single component is dependent on its own properties, but also on the characteristics of other components.

Exergy Linked to Environmental Impacts: Advanced Exergoenvironmental Analysis of an Advanced Zero Emission Plant

Volume 4: Energy Systems Analysis, Thermodynamics and Sustainability; Combustion Science and Engineering; Nanoengineering for Energy, Parts A and B, 2011
Exergy-based analyses are useful means for the evaluation and improvement of energy conversion systems. A life cycle assessment (LCA) is coupled with an exergetic analysis in an exergo-environmental analysis. An advanced exergo-environmental analysis quantifies the environmental impacts estimated in the LCA into avoidable/unavoidable parts and into ...
