Advanced exergy analysis of an electricity-generating facility using natural gas

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Management, 2014
Abstract This paper deals with the performance assessment of an electricity generation facility located in the Eskisehir Industry Estate Zone in Turkey using advanced exergy analysis method. The exergy efficiency of the system is determined to be 40.2% while the total exergy destruction rate of the system is calculated to be 78.242 MW.

Energy-water-environment nexus underpinning future desalination sustainability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Energy-water-environment nexus is very important to attain COP21 goal, maintaining environment temperature increase below 2 °C, but unfortunately two third share of CO2 emission has already been used and the remaining will be exhausted by 2050.

Thermodynamic efficiency and entropy production in the climate system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present an outlook on the climate system thermodynamics. First, we construct an equivalent Carnot engine with efficiency and frame the Lorenz energy cycle in a macroscale thermodynamic context.

Advanced exergy analysis on varying climate conditions for a 3 MW S-CO2 Brayton cycle system

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
Aiming at the problem that conventional exergy analysis cannot provide comprehensive insights into exergy destruction, advanced exergy analysis was conducted on the supercritical CO2 cycle. A more detailed breakdown of exergy destruction was revealed. In
