Investigating the impact of drought stress on cotton fiber properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Drought is a major environment stress that reduces cotton yield and fiber quality in the State of Texas. However, because of the inherent difficulties of studying fiber tissue and the lack of markers to monitor the fiber development, little is known ...

A Numerical Alternative to MR Thermometry for Safety Validation of Multi‐Channel RF Transmit Coils

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 1, Page 469-484, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose This study proposes a numerical technique to estimate peak local specific absorption rate (SAR) uncertainty of multi‐channel RF coils during the process of safety validation as an alternative to experimental temperature and electric‐field measurements, and demonstrates its use to enable human studies at 10.5 T.

Advanced Technologies for Characterizing and Detecting Battery Thermal Failure: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 33, 15 June 2026.
Illustration of advanced characterization techniques to predict battery thermal failure. ABSTRACT Energy storage is essential in accelerating the global transition toward clean and sustainable energy across various sectors. Lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) have become increasingly significant for energy storage due to their high energy density, low ...

TRAVELLER CLEARER GAUGE CONSEQUENCE ON YARN QUALITY [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Traveller clearer is an important part of the ring frame machine because, without it, fiber flying in the traveller cannot be cleaned. As a result, fiber congests travellers which may lead to a rise in end breakage rate as well as declination of quality ...

Upgradation of Waste Dyed Fiber Through Production of Upcycled Rotor‐Spun Yarn: Enhancing Sustainability in Textiles

open access: yesCleanMat, Volume 3, Issue 2, Page 99-110, June 2026.
This research is about development of upcycled yarn from textile waste. The results demonstrate that RDFW can be successfully incorporated into yarn production, maintaining comparable tensile strength and uniformity, while reducing waste and resource consumption also save up to 22,000 L of water and 1.2 kg of CO2 per kilogram of cotton.

Development of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy in direct, non-destructive, and rapid determination of cotton fiber maturity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectra of seed and lint cottons were collected to explore the potential for the discrimination of immature cottons from mature ones and also for the determination of actual cotton maturity.

Incommensurate structure of AlPO4‐5 and its stability

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section B, Volume 82, Issue 3, Page 344-351, June 2026.
The incommensurately modulated structure of AlPO4‐5 was elucidated by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction, revealing correlated rotational displacements of AlO4 and PO4 tetrahedra. The incommensurate structure of AlPO4‐5 and its stability have been investigated in detail.

Field Strength‐Dependent White Matter R1 and R2 Anisotropy of Phase‐Cycled Balanced Steady‐State Free Precession Relaxometry

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 5, Page 2873-2891, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To investigate how the relaxation rates (R1, R2) and asymmetry indices (AI), derived from phase‐cycled balanced steady‐state free precession (pc‐bSSFP) data, depend on the orientation of white matter (WM) fiber tracts at different field strengths.

Genetic dissection and origin of pleiotropic loci underlying multi-level fiber quality traits in upland cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.)

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture
Cotton fiber quality is a persistent concern that determines planting benefits and the quality of finished textile products. However, the limitations of measurement instruments have hindered the accurate evaluation of some important fiber characteristics
