Palliative Debulking of an Aortic Body Tumour With Right Atrial Invasion in a Dog Under Partial Cardiopulmonary Bypass

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
This report describes a French Bulldog that developed severe right‐sided congestive heart failure due to mechanical obstruction of venous return by a heart‐base tumor extending into the right atrium. Partial cardiopulmonary bypass‐assisted palliative debulking relieved the obstruction and temporarily improved clinical signs and ascites.

Electrocardiographic Predictors of Early Recurrence of Atrial Fibrillation After Electrical Cardioversion

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 31, Issue 5, September 2026.
A simple ECG composite score predicts early AF recurrence after electrical cardioversion and may help guide rhythm‐control strategies. ABSTRACT Background Although electrical cardioversion (ECV) effectively restores sinus rhythm in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation (AF), early recurrence after successful ECV remains common in clinical ...

Morphology-based ECG criteria for identifying left-atrial low-voltage areas on voltage mapping: a diagnostic accuracy study

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundLeft atrial (LA) fibrosis contributes to atrial fibrillation (AF) recurrence beyond pulmonary vein triggers, yet its non-invasive identification pre-ablation remains challenging.

Interatrial Block Detected by a Series of ECGs Before and During Acute Coronary Syndrome Predicts Atrial Fibrillation, Atrial Flutter, and Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease
Background Interatrial block (IAB) in an ECG, manifesting atrial pathology, is a possible risk factor for atrial arrhythmias and ischemic stroke. IAB is often transiently expressed, posing a major challenge for risk estimation when only a limited number ...

Interatrial Block: A Virtual Pandemic Requiring Attention

open access: yesIranian Journal of Medical Sciences, 2014
Interatrial block (IAB) denotes a conduction delay between the two atria (P-wave duration ≥110 ms). Depending on the severity of the block, IAB can be partial or advanced.

Association of Atrial Electrophysiological Abnormalities With Cognitive Decline and Cerebrovascular Disease

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease
Background Atrial electrophysiological abnormalities (AEA) are associated with cognitive dysfunction. We evaluated the associations of AEA with longitudinal cognitive decline and incident dementia and investigated underlying mechanisms.

Association of P-wave characteristics with long-standing atrial high rate episodes (AHREs) following pacemaker implantation

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders
Background The study is aimed at identifying the risk factors for long-standing atrial high rate episodes(AHREs) following pacemaker implantation. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 180 patients who underwent pacemaker implantation between 01
