Cryopreservation of Panax ginseng Adventitious Roots

Journal of Plant Biology, 2009
We tested desiccation and/or vitrification procedures to cryopreserve the adventitious roots of Panax ginseng, the source of commercially produced ginsenosides. When only desiccation was applied, the post-freeze survival of 3- to 4-mm root tips was

Adventitious Roots

2014
The root system of a plant is composed of the primary, lateral and adventitious roots (ARs). Lateral roots always develop from roots, whereas ARs form from stem or leaf‐derived cells. AR formation is part of the normal development of the plant and occurs naturally, like in most monocotyledonous for which they constitute the main root system or in many ...

Anatomical changes during adventitious root formation

1986
Organization is one of the most characteristic traits of living organisms. It is especially conspicuous in the orderly growth that every organism undergoes and which produces the specific forms so characteristic of a particular species [1]. The evidence for biological organization is manifested in studies in which the normal processes of growth and ...

Adventitious roots in Kunzea triregensis (Myrtaceae)

Perspectives in Biodiversity
Adventitious roots are reported for Kunzea triregensis de Lange, an apparent first for this species and the Aotearoa / New Zealand indigenous representatives of Kunzea Rchb. It is noted that the roots were observed in a cultivated tree of this Manawatawhi / Three Kings Islands endemic that had been raised from a cutting.

Auxin Metabolism and Adventitious Root Initiation

1994
In this chapter I will report on and discuss the role of auxins in adventitious root initiation, particularly the relations between endogenous indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) and the early events of adventitious rooting. The fact that IAA is involved is well established, although much of the data to support this is circumstantial. It will be not possible in
