From observation to understanding: A multi‐agent framework for smart microscopy
Abstract Smart microscopy represents a paradigm shift in biological imaging, moving from passive observation tools to active collaborators in scientific inquiry. Enabled by advances in automation, computational power, and artificial intelligence, these systems are now capable of adaptive decision‐making and real‐time experimental control.

Abstract Microcoleus is a cosmopolitan, filamentous cyanobacterium and a key component of biological soil crusts—complex microbial communities essential for primary production in diverse terrestrial environments. Here, we performed a taxonomic revision of several species of Microcoleus based on a large population genomic dataset.

Inflammatory and Immunological Basis of Periodontal Diseases
The periodontal lesion emerges as an evolving immunological battlefield, where host–microbiome interactions, dysregulated immune responses, fragile resolution mechanisms, and inflammophilic dysbiosis converge to shift the balance from homeostasis to unrestrained tissue destruction.

Historical shifts, geographic biases, and biological constraints shape mammal species discovery
Taxonomic descriptions of mammals have become more robust from 1990 to 2025, with increased specimen sampling, broader comparisons, and more integrative methods. However, disparities remain: tropical and small‐bodied species are less comprehensively described, reflecting ongoing geographic and biological biases.

How Do Businesses Finance New Investment?
ABSTRACT This paper investigates how UK firms finance new investment and whether their choices follow a financing hierarchy consistent with leading theories of capital structure. Using a survey of 2886 firms conducted by the UK Department for Business and Trade and the Bank of England (2020–2023), we examine six financing sources: retained earnings ...

Zoonotic anxieties: The cultural politics of Nepal's quest for pandemic preparedness
Abstract Based on fieldwork conducted in Nepal (2022–2024) and by paying attention to how local and transnational notions of epidemiological risk are deployed, this ethnography introduces the concept of “zoonotic anxieties” to make sense of the multi‐species relational ethos that contemporary global health regimes propose.
