Evaluation of Sumithion L-40 against Aedes aegypti (L.) and Aedes albopictus Skuse.

open access: yesTropical biomedicine, 2015
Space spraying of chemical insecticides is still an important mean of controlling Aedes mosquitoes and dengue transmission. For this purpose, the bioefficacy of space-sprayed chemical insecticide should be evaluated from time to time. A simulation field trial was conducted outdoor in an open field and indoor in unoccupied flat units in Kuala Lumpur, to

DEET‐cyclodextrin inclusion complexes for mosquito and tick repellency: Extended repellency time and no zebrafish embryotoxicity

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Hydroxypropyl‐β‐cyclodextrin (HPβCD)–N,N‐diethyl‐meta‐toluamide (DEET) complex extended tick repellency to 168 h. Full protection against Aedes aegypti for 7 h with HPβCD‐DEET. HPβCD reduced DEET release and skin retention significantly. No embryotoxicity observed below 325 mg L−1 in zebrafish model.

A Novel Bacterial-Mediated Method for the Differentiation of Aedes spp. Larvae in Mixed-Nursery Assays and Its Application in the Determination of Vegetative Lysinibacillus sphaericus Biocontrol Efficiency in Invasive Vector Eradication

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
The establishment of Aedes aegypti and the recent invasion of Aedes albopictus has put Colombia at risk, as it now harbours two arboviral vector species.

Identification of broadly expressed nervous system‐related genes as effective RNAi targets in the brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Broadly expressed genes outperformed brain‐enriched neural targets as RNAi candidates in Halyomorpha halys. Microinjection of dsRNA targeting alpha‐soluble NSF attachment protein (Asnap) or Ras opposite protein (Rop) caused strong feeding suppression and near‐complete mortality, identifying them as promising targets for future oral or spray‐based RNAi ...

Laboratory, simulated‐use, and field evaluation of non‐insecticidal consumer products for indoor pest management: a freeze‐spray aerosol, light traps, and an ‘insect repellent’ lamp

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Control efficacy of three types of non‐insecticidal consumer products were examined in laboratory, simulated‐use, and field conditions. Freeze spray and ‘repellent lamp’ showed limited efficacy, whereas various results in attraction in light trap were reported.

Long‐term impact of exposure to Royal Guard, a pyriproxyfen‐based bed net, on pyrethroid‐resistant malaria vectors from Cameroon using DNA‐based metabolic resistance markers

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 81, Issue 4, Page 2165-2180, April 2025.
We used recently detected P450 DNA‐based markers of pyrethroid resistance in both Anopheles funestus and Anopheles gambiae to demonstrate that although pyrethroid‐resistant mosquitoes have higher ability to survive and live longer after exposure to Royal Guard, this net significantly affects their lifespan, blood feeding ability and interestingly ...

Agricultural Fungicide Mancozeb in Leaf Litter Enhances Survival and Growth of Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae)

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mancozeb is one of the most widely used agricultural fungicides, exhibiting strong efficacy against a broad spectrum of phytopathogenic fungi. However, its widespread application comes at the cost of environmental contamination. Here, we show the effects of Inga vera leaf litter contamination with Mancozeb on life‐history traits of Aedes ...

UJI EFEKTIVITAS LARVISIDA REBUSAN DAUN SIRIH (PIPER BETLE L.) TERHADAP LARVA AEDES AEGYPTI : STUDI PADA NILAI LC50, LT50, SERTA KECEPATAN KEMATIAN LARVA

open access: yesJurnal Kedokteran Diponegoro, 2017
