We investigate the airborne transport of particles on a granular surface by the saltation mechanism through numerical simulation of particle motion coupled with turbulent flow. We determine the saturated flux $q_{s}$ and show that its behavior is consistent with a classical empirical relation obtained from wind tunnel measurements.

Estimation of stresses in atmospheric ice during aeolian vibration of power transmission lines [PDF]
Aeolian vibration in bare and iced cable was simulated using the theory of cable vibration. High frequency vibration creates stresses in the cable and consequently in the ice covering that cable, which may result in ice failure and eventually ice ...

AEOLIANS, AEOLIAN MIGRATION: ANCIENT TRADITION AND HISTORICAL REALITIES
the article presents results of the study of the ancient tradition about the Aeolians in general and about the Aeolian migration as a part of this tradition. The ancient literary tradition in the process of its formation, starting from the first scattered references to the Aeolians and ending with data on the territory of settlement, common language ...

Reconstruction of linear dunes from ancient aeolian successions using subsurface data: Permian Auk Formation, Central North Sea, UK [PDF]
A series of well logs and cores penetrating the predominantly aeolian Auk Formation, Permian Rotliegend Group, Central North Sea, UK, have been evaluated to determine the morphology and style of migratory behaviour of the original dune bedforms, the ...

Human activity and aeolian relief of Starczynów “Desert”, Poland [PDF]
Starczynów „Desert” is located in the eastern part of the Silesian Upland (southern Poland) and makes a compact area with the occurrence of aeolian sands, which till the 1960s. were intensively blown.

Migrating meter-scale bedforms on Martian dark dunes: Are terrestrial aeolian ripples good analogues? [PDF]
Using automatic bedform mapping, principal component analysis and clustering we present a multiscale morphodynamic survey of dunes and meter-scale ripples on Herschel crater, Mars.
