Niveo-aeolian sand deposits on An Teallach, Wester Ross, Scotland
Deposits of windblown sand up to 4 m thick on the Torridon Sandstone massif of An Teallach are shown to be of predominantly niveo-aeolian origin, a form of sedimentation hitherto unrecognised in upland Britain. Sand grains weathered from bedrock and from

Abstract Using satellite‐derived dust optical depth (DOD), reanalysis meteorology, and a global topsoil flash drought (TSFD) inventory for 2003–2022, we find that TSFD events are associated with increased dust loading at the global scale. During TSFD events, 44.7% of land pixels exhibited positive DOD anomalies.

Study for Aeolian Sand Characteristics by Static Experiment
The representative aeolian sand taken from Horqin desert freeway is used as Subgrade Material. In this paper, California Bearing Ratio (CBR) and rebound modulus E0 are analyzed by experiments which are based on different aeolian samples with different ...

An Alhagi maurorum inspired hierarchical composite membrane (NFCu) was developed by integrating heavy metal remediation and solar‐driven interfacial evaporation in a single platform. Beyond the photothermal effect, a localized photocatalytic process is realized on the CuO surface, deepening the mechanistic understanding of light–matter–water ...

Using long‐term population data from Arabian oryx and sand gazelle populations across the Middle East, we found consistent evidence of negative density dependence, with annual growth rates declining as population size increased, alongside evidence of temporal lag effects in Arabian oryx.

Formation mechanism and development pattern of aeolian sand landform in Yarlung Zangbo River valley
Aeolian sand landforms in the Yarlung Zangbo River valley can be divided into 4 classes and 21 types. The river valley has favourable environment conditions for the development of aeolian sand landforms.

Impact of Sahelian Climate Variables on Solar Photovoltaic Output
ABSTRACT Solar photovoltaic (PV) energy is a critical pathway for advancing the energy transition in the Sahel. However, PV module performance in this region is strongly constrained by extreme climatic conditions. This study investigates the effects of (1) wind speed, (2) relative humidity, (3) temperature, (4) dust deposition, and (5) solar irradiance

Distinction between aeolian sand and beach sand by discriminant analysis
Beach deposits occur in high energy environments with continual sorting by swash and backswash. The fines are removed by the backswash, which is not competent to remove the coarser material. Hence negative asymmetry (skewness) results.
