Developing natural based biodegradable sand barriers for mitigation of aeolian sands

Journal of Environmental Management
Wind erosion sediments pose significant environmental challenges, especially in arid and semi-arid regions. Over recent decades, various methods have been developed to stabilize sand dunes. Current research emphasizes wind profile assessment for sand stabilization, focusing on material properties, ease of implementation, and sand tarping potential ...

Aeolian sand transport along beaches

Australian Geographer, 1986
SUMMARY Storm‐generated ephemeral transverse sand ridges were observed developing along the beach fronting Sir Richard Peninsula, South Australia during 25 March 1984. The ridges displayed a mean height of 10 cm and a wavelength of 12 m; their breadth was approximately 2 m, and length varied with beach width but ranged up to 40 m over 10 km of ...

Types of Aeolian Sand Dunes and Their Formation

2001
The accumulation of windblown sand creates sand dunes which are one of nature’s most dynamics and intriguing phenomena. Sand dunes are found in most climates of the world as coastal dunes and in some arid regions. Grains of sand between 0.062 and 2.0mm in diameter are not cohesive and therefore are easily carried by the wind.
