From Dysbiosis to Disease: How Vaginal Microbiota Shape Group B Streptococcus Pathogenesis

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 20, 28 October 2026.
Lactobacillus crispatus plays a critical role in the vaginal microbiome. Limiting glucose shifts metabolism toward HMO consumption and amino acid metabolism. These actions enable alkali production and competition. Homeostasis, characterized by dense Lactobacilli colonization and suppression of pathogens, provides resistance to dysbiosis.

Photoinduzierte Freisetzung maskierter Iridium(III)‐Komplexe für die kombinierte photodynamische und photoaktivierte Chemotherapie

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 41, 5 October 2026.

Early fossil eukaryotes were benthic aerobes

open access: yes
The evolution of the eukaryotic cell paved the way for the emergence of all complex life on Earth. Despite its significance, the environmental context of early eukaryote evolution is largely unknown1,2.

Mikrobiologiczne zanieczyszczenie surowców drobiarskich w województwie lubelskim w latach 2002–2005 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The research material was made up by the carcasses of chickens and geese as well as cuts (chicken fillet). Salmonella rods, bacteria count from coli group and the total count of aerobes were determined.

Bacterial faecal community structure developing prior to D0.

open access: yes, 2015
Data generated using one sample weekly from LO-BSI infants and controls. Black lines on the stacked bars divide the identified OTUs: lower segment comprises aerobes/facultative anaerobes, upper segment obligate anaerobes.

Microbial Analysis and Antimicrobial Susceptibility of Microorganisms Associated with Teeth Indicated for Non-Surgical Endodontic Treatment in a Nigerian Population-A Cross-Sectional Study

open access: yesNigerian Dental Journal
Background The success of endodontic therapy hinges on the eradication of microbial infection within the root canal system. Regional variations in microbial ecology and antibiotic resistance underscore the need for population-specific data to guide ...

Nitrification and aerobic denitrification in anoxic–aerobic sequencing batch reactor

open access: yesBioresource Technology, 2016
The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of achieving nitrogen (N) removal using a lab-scale sequencing batch reactor (SBR) exposed to anoxic/aerobic (AN/OX) phases, focusing to achieve aerobic denitrification. This process will minimize emissions of N2O greenhouse gas.

Different gut microbiome dysbioses impact the evolutionary fate of hypervirulent Klebsiella pneumoniae

open access: yesiMeta, Volume 5, Issue 5, October 2026.
Transient exposure to ampicillin results in restructuring of microbiota to favor oxygen‐tolerant bacteria, whereas osmotic laxative perturbation preserves Bacteriodota. Ampicillin‐ but not laxative‐exposed environment favors establishment of rmpA phase variants that lost hypermucoviscosity but short‐chain fatty acids present in the laxative‐exposed gut

Survival curves for natural contaminating microorganisms (S1 Dataset).

open access: yes, 2018
(A) total mesophilic aerobes treated at 250 and 400 MPa; (B) yeasts and molds treated at 250. No survivors were observed at 400 MPa for yeast and mold.

Comparative in vitro activity of gemifloxacin

open access: yes, 2000
Gemifloxacin is a new quinolone and, like moxifloxacin, trovafloxacin, grepafloxacin and clinafloxacin, is more potent in vitro than ciprofloxacin or ofloxacin against Gram-positive aerobes, Gemifloxacin was the most potent of the quinolones tested ...
