ALDOA Promotes Glycolysis and NLRP3/GSDMD Pyroptosis to Accelerate ALS Progression
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by progressive motor neuron degeneration. Glycolytic dysregulation is implicated in disease progression, yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigates how Aldolase A (ALDOA) drives ALS progression through glycolysis‐mediated motor neuron pyroptosis.

Exercise intolerance and fatigue in chronic heart failure: is there a role for group III/IV afferent feedback? [PDF]
Exercise intolerance and early fatiguability are hallmark symptoms of chronic heart failure. While the malfunction of the heart is certainly the leading cause of chronic heart failure, the patho-physiological mechanisms of exercise intolerance in these ...

Sustainable Catalyst‐Free PLG Networks: Recyclability, Biodegradability, and Functional Performance
A catalyst‐additive free covalent adaptable network is developed from star‐shaped poly(lactide‐co‐glycolide) cross‐linked with pyromellitic dianhydride, enabling internal carboxylic acid‐driven transesterification. The resulting biodegradable network exhibits mechanical robustness (Young's modulus ≈1.6 GPa), complete recyclability, rapid biodegradation

Does macronutrient consumption affect aerobic capacity? [PDF]
Background: Fitness in the United States is declining as the prevalence of obesity rises. It is known generally that exercise and diet both play a part in becoming fit, therefore veering away from being obese and/or overweight.

Mechanisms of exercise-induced improvements in the contractile apparatus of the mammalian myocardium [PDF]
One of the main outcomes of aerobic endurance exercise training is the improved maximal oxygen uptake, and this is pivotal to the improved work capacity that follows the exercise training.

ABSTRACT Engineering living matter has great clinical potential to deliver functional replacement organs. However, clinical translation remains hampered by the current inability to maintain viability of clinically relevant‐sized constructs. During the pre‐vascular phase, implants rely on nutrient diffusion for survival, which is insufficient at ...

PREDICTING AEROBIC CAPACITY IN ADOLESCENTS [PDF]
The purpose of this study was to develop regression equations to predict (VO2) max and (VO2/kg) max in a cross section of normal, not pre-selected adolescents. Forty students had (VO2) max measured on a cycle ergometer. Age, sex, height, weight, percentage of body fat (estimated), thigh circumference, and anterior thigh skin fold were measured.

Training benefits consequent to 8-weeks of kettlebell training [PDF]
This study was designed to examine the changes in aerobic capacity and muscular strength consequent to 8 weeks of kettlebell training. Seventeen subjects (9 males, 8 females) completed 1 repetition maximum (1RM) testing for one-arm shoulder press, leg ...
