Coal Mine Wastewater as a Secondary Resource: Advances in Treatment and Value Recovery Technologies
ABSTRACT Coal mine wastewater, which has historically been considered an environmental problem, is becoming more widely recognized as a secondary resource with substantial value recovery potential. Nevertheless, recent progress demonstrates that this wastewater could be converted into highly useful, industrially available pigments (like iron oxides) by

Reliability analysis of 34 constructed wetlands showed wide operating margins for organic matter and suspended solids, but less frequent sustained compliance for nitrogen and phosphorus. Robustness should therefore be assessed using system‐ and parameter‐specific reliability, together with removal efficiency and final effluent concentration.

ABSTRACT Geochemical data compiled from dried sediments from three water reservoirs at the ancient Maya city of Ucanal, Petén, Guatemala, reveal low to undetectable fecal biomarker concentrations. These low concentrations may be the result of the aerobic decay of sterols combined with well‐managed waste disposal practices.
