Aerodynamic characteristics of trills

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1998
What are the aerodynamic conditions required for trills? To find out we had two subjects produce steady-state voiced, voiceless, and ejective alveolar trills. The backpressure during trills was intermittently bled with a tube of varying diameter (and thus impedance) inserted in the speaker’s mouth via the buccal sulcus and gap behind the back molars ...

The aerodynamic characteristics of cat allergen

Clinical & Experimental Allergy, 1993
SummaryTo further characterize airborne cat allergen and a newly established cat challenge facility, airborne Fel d I levels and particle size distributions were studied in both the cat challenge room and home environments under different conditions of ventilation and physical activity.

Aerodynamic Characteristics of Tracheostomy Speaking Valves

Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research, 1993
Pressure-flow characteristics were determined for four different one-way valves used for speech production in the patient who has had a tracheotomy. Each valve was tested at steady-state flow rates of 150, 250, 350, and 450 ml/sec in isolation and attached to a tracheostomy tube. Results indicated significant differences in resistance among the valves.

Aerodynamic Characteristics of Blerak Winglet

Journal of Advanced Research in Fluid Mechanics and Thermal Sciences, 2023
The induced drag created by wingtip vortices has a significant impact on aircraft performance. Winglets are wingtip extensions that are intended to reduce the creation of vortices and increase the fuel efficiency. The present study is based on analyzing different winglets planform for aircraft at various angles of attack (AOA) to improve the ...

Aerodynamic characteristics of lambda wings

The Aeronautical Journal, 2000
AbstractThe results of wind tunnel tests carried out on a semi-span ‘lambda’ planform model with leading and trailing edges swept at 40° are presented. The planform investigated has been specified as having features likely to be encountered on future ‘ow observable’ aircraft.

Determination of Elastic Wing Aerodynamic Characteristics

Journal of the Aeronautical Sciences, 1952
The basic aeroelastic integral equation is formulated by treating the wing as a tapered cantilever beam mounted normal to its straight elastic axis. By means of an iterative process, a series solution is obtained for the aeroelastic change in angle-of-attack distribution. For sweptback wings, this Neumann solution fails to converge at dynamic pressures

Aerodynamic characteristics of avian airfoils

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2019
This paper is focused on four bird’s airfoils namely Seagull, Merganser, Teal and Owl which are extracted from their respective wing cross-sections. In addition to this, the corrugation due to feather roughness of Swift bird is imposed on Seagull. The aerodynamic performance of these 4 avian airfoils and corrugated Seagull airfoil is tested in Reynolds
