Turbocharger aerodynamic design

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part C: Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 1999
The aerodynamic design of turbochargers is described, covering radial compressors and turbines and also axial turbines. The paper concentrates upon those aspects that are peculiar to turbocharger design, including the approach adopted, and highlights the importance of company-specific empirical data.

Aerodynamic Design

Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1963
THE overall design philosophy of the DAC One‐Elcvcn has already been described in the preceding papers on operating economics and systems—so that this article sets out to extend that information by explaining how the aerodynamic features of the aircraft enable the spscification of this short‐range twin jet to be met.

Aerodynamic design using neural networks

AIAA Journal, 1998
An aerodynamic design procedure that incorporates the advantages of both traditional response surface methodology (RSM) and neural networks is described. The procedure employs a strategy called parameterbased partitioning of the design space and uses a sequence of response surfaces based on both neural networks and polynomial fits to traverse the ...

Aerodynamic Design

Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1965
SINCE its original conception, the project has grown from an aircraft of 8,600 lb. all‐up‐weight with two 340 h.p. piston engines, to the present turbine‐powered Skyvan of 12,500 lb. all‐up‐weight with two 666 e.h.p. turbine engines. This has caused some minor changes to be made in certain aerodynamic design features of the aircraft but the necessary ...

Aerodynamic Design

Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1939
A PHYSICIST addressing an informal gathering recently was asked by one of his audience if lie could put Einstein's relativity theory in a nutshell. The task of covering in one short article the whole realm of problems which arise in the aerodynamic design of an aeroplane to‐day, though not so exacting, is still formidable.
