Improving aerodynamic efficiency of a Skywalker drone
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2020Nowadays, fixed wing drones are being adapted widely into many industries. However, fixed wing drones are relatively more costly than quadcopter drones and have a lot of improvement to be made. For example, in terms of aerodynamic efficiency. This paper aims to improve the flight time of a Skywalker drone by using a different airfoil for the wing.

Adaptive Virtual Inertia Controller for DFIGs Considering Nonlinear Aerodynamic Efficiency
IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, 2021With increasing the share of renewable energy sources (RESs) in the power systems, the frequency stability becomes a crucial concern. This issue can be handled with some auxiliary frequency controllers which use the kinetic energy of blades of the ...

Is Flapping Flight Aerodynamically Efficient?
32nd AIAA Applied Aerodynamics Conference, 2014Flapping flight is much less efficient for some insects than previously thought. The induced power factor for flapping wings is discussed in terms of a number of non-ideal effects for hovering and for forward flight. These effects include losses due to non-uniform downwash, wake periodicity and effective disk area.
